Chapter 699: Tactics of Unity
Some of the onlookers, upon seeing the injured fighters retreating, would immediately find substitutes to make up the shortfall and fill the places emptied by the returning ones.
So even though they were the side with fewer people, and even had people getting injured, they were not losing out much. On the other hand, the number of people on Thunder Fire’s side was declining, and they were suffering from severe injuries.
“You guys are more particular about tactics.” Just a few glances were all Feng Tianlan needed to understand the situation. The five of them were standing together to put up a defensive attack, just as she had seen at Eagle Nest Mountain Ridge.
And these opponents were all at the level of Dark Supreme or Earth Supreme. How could they possibly be mere punks?
The commander lowered his head and smiled kindly at Feng Tianlan. “Crazy missy is very intelligent.”
Feng Tianlan felt a tug at the corners of her mouth as she reminded him, “Commander, I’m in the guise of a man now. If you behave like this, my identity will be exposed very easily.”
“Alright, if you’ve grasped an understanding of what is happening, then go ahead.” The commander patted Feng Tianlan on the shoulder and said, “Go and practice your hand well, then it will be quicker for you to be promoted to Earth Supreme.”
With that said, the commander pushed Feng Tianlan and Azurite out.
Feng Tianlan felt the tug at the corners of her mouth again. Were they not all about being united as one? Were they not all about solidarity and friendship? To simply push someone out like that, seen by people who did not know them, they would think that she was being shoved out there to die, right?
“There’s an enemy charging here! Quick, swing your fists.”
Feng Tianlan looked up to see that someone had wasted no time in swinging a ball of fire to attack them. He had seen Azurite and her being pushed out and left all alone, so obviously he had identified them as his targets.
The other three, Mei’er, Da Da and Xiao Xiao, immediately rushed over to Feng Tianlan and Azurite’s side. They repulsed that man and very quickly took up their respective positions, communicating with one another as they fought. “Lan’er, assist Da Da! Azurite, you take charge of defense. If there’s any spiritual force coming our way, send an antagonistic spiritual force back to counterattack.”
Feng Tianlan lightly hummed her reply, “Alright.”
Spiritual force was divided into six kinds of spiritual elements: water, fire, ice, wind, wood, and thunder.
And apart from water and ice which were essentially the same, the rest of the elements were connected in a mutual generation and restriction cycle. With the exception of the thunder spiritual force, all the spiritual practitioners of the Xuantian Continent possessed a kind of spiritual force that they cultivated on their own.
So now, she discovered that their regiment of five was in fact a team where each one of them practiced and cultivated one of the five spiritual forces, namely water, fire, ice, wind and wood. This was just so that no matter what spiritual force came their way, they would be able to counterattack at once, or at least cushion the impact a little.
This was a very good tactic. And this tactic was all about a kind of unity and tacit understanding among the team, both of which she had seen in them.
“Xiao Lan’er, be more careful.” Mei’er and Feng Tianlan stood together.
“D*mn! So shameless, you actually sent a group of ten to attack us.” Seeing that the other party, like them, was also attacking as a group, but with a greater number of people, and was launching attacks directly at them, Da Da could not help but hurl abuse at the other side.
“Change positions,” Mei’er said in a low voice. The positions they were stationed at were opposite to them, so it put them in a mutual restriction cycle. So, if their enemy’s attack was successful, then their team would end up with heavy injuries or even death.
“D*mn it.” Da Da looked at how far apart their five spiritual forces were and saw that it was not just two same spiritual forces attacking them. They were encircled by their enemy. If this went on, they would definitely get hurt.
Da Da could not help but curse aloud. Then he leaped out to stand right in front of them, using his two-meter tall, hill-like body to block them from the oncoming attacks.
“Brother!” Xiao Xiao shrieked in fear.
“Da Da!” Mei’er cried out in a trembling voice.
He was going to use his body to ward off this fatal blow.
The commander of the Unity Mercenary Regiment looked up for a moment and his eyes instantly widened. He was just about to leap forward when he realized that there was a sudden change in the situation. All that they could see was an ice wall, two feet high and two feet thick, suddenly appearing in front of Da Da to stop him.
