Chapter 223: Slapping Tu Xiupei in the Face
“Pay the bill?” Tu Xiupei was stunned and stared at Feng Tianlan. “Isn’t it…” She managed to stop herself in time, swallowing hard. She forced herself to smile. “How much is it?”
It was a status symbol to hold a banquet in Spiritual Foods Restaurant. Since all the guests now assumed that she was the hostess and the restaurant had given away so many pills, it would only benefit her to foot the bill at this point.
She did a quick calculation and was sure that she could afford the dishes that they’d eaten. Feng Tianlan had probably given prior instructions about the pills, so spending some money to make sure that Feng Tianlan sacrificed the pills and got nothing in return was worth it to her.
The server placed the bill in her hands and smiled widely. “Ten billion gold coins, or exactly one thousand Spiritual Crystals.”
“That’s…that’s daylight robbery!” Tu Xiupei was so shocked by this amount that the smile immediately disappeared from her face. Ten billion gold coins? She couldn’t even sell herself for that much!
Feng Tianlan looked over at Luo Yunzhu and saw her enjoying the show. She couldn’t help but curl her lips. So, this was the good show that Yunzhu had prepared, and what a good show it was! This hole she’d dug for Tu Xiupei was unfathomably deep.
Si Mobai saw that Feng Tianlan was smiling, and his mood improved. So, it wasn’t that his subordinates had treated his Lan’er poorly, but that Lan’er had purposely dug this colossal hole for Tu Xiupei to be buried in.
The server continued smiling. “You can take a look at the list of items and see that these are reasonable prices for the items you ordered. Our restaurant doesn’t take advantage of weak people.” Was she a weak person?
Ten billion gold coins – it was such a shocking amount, and Tu Xiupei forgot to put her mask on. She quickly glanced at the bill and said, “But it says here that everything only costs 1 billion gold coins. Why are you charging me ten times that?”
This was even worse than robbery!
“This banquet was booked by Feng Clan Head, but seeing that Miss Tu is her younger sister, we canceled the Feng Clan Head’s booking and let you take over the banquet. So, we have to compensate the Feng Clan Head for canceling her booking, and Miss Tu should cover this cost. Also, since those pills were originally from the Feng Clan Head, but Miss Tu took them, you have to pay twice the price to buy them…”
After the server broke down all the costs, he smiled and concluded, “So, Miss Tu will have to pay a grand total of 10 billion gold coins. I strongly believe that Miss Tu’s reputation is priceless.”
This was the price for bullying Her Highness, and they were going to bully her back for Her Highness’ sake. They wanted to charge her 100 billion gold coins, but that seemed like too much, so they’d settled on 10 billion.
“This…this is blind robbery. It says here that it’s only 1 billion.” Tu Xiupei was so angry that her hand was trembling as she clutched the bill. Never mind selling herself. Even if she sold Feng Manor, she wouldn’t be able to cobble together 10 billion gold coins.
The server’s face fell, and he said in a severe voice, “So, Miss Tu is here to cheat a free meal out of us? Are you just trying to enjoy a meal then evade payment?”
“I’m not trying to cheat your restaurant. Your restaurant is trying to cheat me! Ten billion gold coins? Who in South Winds Nation can afford that sort of price? This restaurant is a scam!” Tu Xiupei was so angry now that she was ready to beat someone up. This restaurant was shady and out to scam her.
“If you don’t have that sort of money, then why did you take over someone else’s banquet? The consequences of not paying up will not be pretty.” The server clapped his hands twice, and an extremely muscular man walked over to Tu Xiupei.
Tu Xiupei took one look at the man and was frightened. She staggered back in fear. “What do you want?”
The muscular man was at the Spiritual Grandmaster level, but he was merely a bouncer for Spiritual Foods Restaurant. This restaurant was not a simple place at all.
