Chapter 757: Shen Yunya Gets Beaten Up
Shen Yunya gave no indication that she was going to leave. She sat there and conversed with Feng Tianlan like a long-lost friend. She asked Feng Tianlan what she had accomplished in the past year, how she had gotten by. She also mentioned how Xi Jin treated her over the past year.
Conversation was the perfect way of engaging each other. It didn’t seem too deliberate, and neither would it feel out of place. The two of them could communicate naturally, as though they were close friends.
Feng Tianlan silently sipped her tea, occasionally chipping in a few words. She had never expected the day to come where she would be able to chat so calmly with Shen Yunya. Fortunately, even with her numerous attempts at probing, she had already steadied her mental state. No matter how much hatred she harbored against her, she would suppress it well.
Back then, didn’t Shen Yunya conceal it very well?
Shen Yunya glanced at the cool and composed Feng Tianlan. She bashfully took a sip of tea and said, “I’m about to get married, so it’s a little nerve-wracking. I’ve said a lot. I hope Miss Feng doesn’t mind?”
“Mm?” Feng Tianlan raised her brow slightly. “I don’t mind. It’s normal to be nervous.”
She wouldn’t be able to get married on her wedding day. Of course she should be feeling nervous.
“That’s good.” Shen Yunya smiled with relief. She glanced at Feng Tianlan and asked, “How come I don’t see Master Si?”
Feng Tianlan placed her teacup on the table. In a calm but displeased voice, she said, “Miss Shen is about to get married. It wouldn’t be good if you met another man at this time, right?”
Shen Yunya hastily replied, “Miss Feng has misunderstood. I am merely asking because I had doubts. I heard that Master Si went to meet Princess Zhaoyang in the past few days. They spoke in private and I have no idea what they spoke about, but in the end, the Princess became emotional and even fainted.”
Even though she had offered an explanation, it was still peppered with even bigger misunderstandings.
Feng Tianlan looked up to meet Shen Yunya’s probing eyes. Her complexion darkened. “Miss Shen should be more careful with her words. Mobai has nothing to do with the Princess’s collapse.”
“I didn’t mean that. Only, I heard that Master Si wasn’t the only one who went. He even brought someone along…”
Feng Tianlan raised her eyes coldly. She sneered icily at Shen Yunya, “Miss Shen must be joking. The Princess didn’t even bring it up. Why are you worrying? Are you eager to get on my good side, or are you eager to use this opportunity to plant discord between Mobai and me?”
Shen Yunya closed her eyes quietly. Brother Jin told her that the wedding was to be postponed, causing her to feel a little irritable. She had spoken too impetuously this time. She sighed inwardly and plastered an apologetic smile on her face. “I’m sorry. I’ve caused Miss Feng to feel upset. I grew up with Zhao Yang, and my worry was inevitable. I spoke without thinking. I hope Miss Feng can forgive me.”
At this time, a servant came forward to report, “Your Highness, Princess Zhaoyang is requesting an audience.”
Feng Tianlan acknowledged in a faint voice, “Let her in then.”
Shen Yunya glanced at Feng Tianlan and inquired probingly, “Miss Feng and Zhaoyang are acquainted?”
“Does this princess need to report all my acquaintances to you?” Xi Lin asked.
Shen Yunya stood up hastily. With a sweet smile, she said, “Sister Lin…”
When Xi Lin saw her stand up, she immediately slapped her. She berated her coldly, saying, “Are you in the position to call me Sister Lin?”
Then sudden and resounding slap rendered Shen Yunya stupefied, and even Feng Tianlan was shocked.
Xi Lin widened her eyes and glanced at Feng Tianlan, who was looking at her in shock. “What are you staring at? You haven’t seen this princess hit anyone before?”
After coming to know of that matter, she was ready to kill Shen Yunya, let alone beat her up.
Feng Tianlan tried to hold back her smile. She pulled a long face and said in a low voice, “The Princess is beating people up in my territory. It doesn’t seem very appropriate.”
