Chapter 1831: Zangarmarsh
There were lots of roads that went into Zangarmarsh, but at the moment, there were only two roads from Hellfire Peninsula.
One was through the camp of the Arakkoa.
The Arakkoa were one of the oldest races in Darenor. Their ancestors had evolved into intelligent bird-like creatures from simple birds. They were originally violent and ferocious and followed a strict social hierarchy. High-level Arakkoa grew wings, and those who didn’t have wings were looked down as only sacrifices used to draw power from the God of Darkness.
There was an Arakkoa clan in the northwest of Hellfire Peninsula called the Haal’eshi. Although these Arakkoa weren’t that powerful, their plundering of the Blood Elf Pilgrims and alliance members’ military supplies gave them lots of trouble. Many prisoners were locked up in the Arakkoa’s; some of the prisoners were even elemental lifeforms.
There was also a canyon by which you could cross over to Zangarmarsh.
But there were four Bosses here, all of them Arakkoas – the type that could fly. Unless they could defeat these four wild Bosses, there was simply no way to pass. Lu Li’s crow transformation was probably not the best idea to get past the bosses. The Arakkoa Bosses definitely wouldn’t treat him like a relative.
The other road was the Pools of Aggonar.
In the west of Hellfire Peninsula, there were Fel pools called the Pools of Aggonar. These were originally holy Draenei waters, but Terror of the Deep Aggonar’s body and blood polluted this place. Although a long time had already passed, the effects of the decay were hard to remove.
Although Aggonar died on Hellfire Peninsula, he didn’t become the main archenemy of the Orc Horde. The real archenemy was Mannoroth, he was the one in Dawn’s history who was the archenemy of the Orc Horde. This Pit Lord was the most favoured underling of Kil’jaeden and Archimonde because his cunning and cruelty got him to the highest positions in the legion.
Players tended to call him Fat Ma.
Even though Terror of the Deep Aggonar wasn’t the archenemy of the Orc Horde, the demonic blood which didn’t dissipate for many years after his death still gave the Fear Fiends who occupied the area more strength.
If Lu Li wanted to go to Zangarmarsh, there was no other road better than this one.
There were also flying units here but compared to the four Bosses that could fly, it was a lot easier to deal with. Besides, the flying demons here flew very slowly. Hachi Chan might not have been able to fly across but there wasn’t a problem for Lu Li.
Actually, after a few days, the alliance NPC leaders would clean up the Arakkoa – who let these Arakkoa always go steal the alliance supplies anyway?
This road would become one that everyone could go through, and what was more, there’d be a neutral NPC camp here for protection. Players passing now didn’t have to worry about enemy player camps plotting against them.
But Lu Li didn’t want to wait. He couldn’t wait to go to Zangarmarsh and open the treasure chests. Zangarmarsh was filled with special gas and fertile soils which bred some unique wetland life. This was a home for numerous types of strange lifeforms. In the marsh grew many savage, meat-eating lifeforms and plants.
There were originally five big lakes here. Although it wasn’t considered extremely rich and fruitful, it was still a place overflowing with life. Many unique lifeforms rested at the beautiful lakeside of Zangarmarsh surrounded by a giant fluorescent mushroom forest. Compared to the neighbouring Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh still maintained most of its original natural beauty, all the way to Naga.
After entering into this territory of Naga, there were large water pumping installations being constructed. From that very moment, the water from various lakes began to fall in, and the water pumped out poured into all the habitats where the Naga lived – the Serpentshrine lake of the Colifang Cave.
Now, the leading Cenarion Expedition team didn’t only forcefully enter this place, but to protect the original natural environment here, they also started a battle.
And also because of Zangarmarsh’s original hidden and unique nature, it wasn’t suitable for developing a large-scale colony. Because of this, after the Draenei met with the massacre of the Orc Horde, the prophet Ferren brought the poor Draenei into Zangarmarsh. From that day on, the Orcs never found them again until Illidan came.
With the help of the Shattered Prophet Noble, Ferren led the Draenei to attack what was originally theirs, but now was occupied by Stormwind Stronghold, which was occupied by Blood Elves. After trying to fight against the Exodar, they escaped to the Outland. However, their plans were very quickly discovered by the Blood Elves defending Stormwind Citadel. They broke into the Exodar space, changed their equipment, and brought about the final destruction of the Exodar to the east of Kalimdor.
There were quite a few strongholds here. Some were neutral, some were Horde, and some were Alliance. Lu Li didn’t have plans to go there at the moment. He planned to go the Cenarion refuge.
The Cenarion refuge was originally set up as a stronghold for the Cenarion Circle to do research into the plants of Zangarmarsh. But with forces invading and the expansion of the area of research, the Circle decided to have the Cenarion team of the Outland independently set up the Cenarion Expedition. This benefited the Cenarion Circle to appropriately deploy the right resources and human labour for the Outland.
The Cenarion refuge had everything that a small town needed. A bar, traders, equipment repair, chefs, even a hook master could be found here. They only lacked a flying master to link the town with other air paths, but this could be found nearby at Telredor and Swamprat. So, it wasn’t too much of a problem.
At the moment, the Cenarion Expedition needed more people to solve the problems they faced in Zangarmarsh. Because of this, they sought help from adventurers, and they treated them well. Players could realise in a short amount of time that they could establish good relationships with them.
In this sort of expedition, Lu Li also wouldn’t get a cold welcome with his low charisma.
The Cenarion Circle was a Druid committee modelled on those that humans had. The leader was Malfurion Stormrage. He had antlers on his head. The Cenarion Circle was the most important Druid group in Azeroth for the Druid teachings.
Malfurion’s superior talents and abilities in his understanding of Druid magic made him the undoubted leader of the Cenarion Circle.
Although since Malfurion had recently entered into an abnormal period of comatose. Because of this, his leadership authority had been handed over to the hands of Fandral Staghelm. As the son of Cenarious, Remulos still maintained absolute influence in this denomination, as before.
When Lu Li turned into a little leopard, he took on the shape of Child of the Forest and entered into the camp.
He was moved to tears by the waiting reception of a hero. The two Druids didn’t raise their staffs as usual, but according to an understood Druid practice, they welcomed him with warm and kind words.
“The protector of nature, we welcome you here.”
In the past, those NPCs saw him as a piece of poop. Finally, he was no longer poop to them.
“I went through The Dark Portal and bring greetings from his excellency Remulos.” Lu Li changed his appearance from being a leopard to an Elf.
