Chapter 1083: An Orderly Arena

“We have the key in our hands; do you want to get out?” Lu Li asked while holding the item.
“Forget it,” Windsor said as he shook his head, “I thought that I would be safe here, but I didn’t think that they would even take my clothes.”
As a highly respected military commander of the Alliance and leader of the Brotherhood of the Horse, the Iron Dwarves didn’t dare to do much to him, no matter how arrogant they were. However, for Marshal Windsor to be left only with his underwear was quite surprising.
“Hey, I have some clothes here, but I don’t know if you will be able to put them on.”
Lu Li took out some rubbish items he had acquired during the dungeon and passed them through the iron bars.
Windsor took them and immediately put them on. He was finally clothed and had a better expression on his face. Lu Li then heard the System prompting him to complete the quest of Windsor’s face.
The EXP and Reputation that he acquired was quite substantial.
Since Windsor wasn’t willing to leave for the time being, Lu Li had no choice but to leave him in jail. At the very least, the assassin that the Black Dragon Princess sent couldn’t hurt him here.
Meanwhile, Sorrowless’ side had triggered a new sub-plot while they were completing a quest for Moira Bronzebeard.
The quest-giving NPC Commander Gor’shak seemed to be in trouble – a group of Iron Dwarves apparently wanted to kill him. Lu Li had to rush in and join the fight. He crowd-controlled the monsters as he dashed forward and shouted, “Don’t let the monsters fight Gor’shak! Crowd control as many of them as you can.”
Gor’shak may have been a good commander, but he was a very squishy character when in actual combat.
The monsters could easily kill him and if they did, the quest chain would be completely broken. If they wanted to continue, they could only wait until the Instance Dungeon refreshed. As a team commander, Lu Li felt like he needed to remind everyone of that.
Lu Li already had some authority over this team, so everyone was obedient.
Even if some of them had doubts, those doubts were immediately dispelled when one of the monsters got through their blockade and hit Gor’shak. With a single attack, the commander had lost a chunk of HP.
If they protected Commander Gor’shak here, they would be able to progress through the rest of the quest without any problems.
After finishing the quest, Lu Li brought everyone out of the prison and returned to the main hall. They took a different way and soon found many monsters just outside in the arena.
“Everyone, come in quickly. Don’t stay outside!” Lu Li shouted.
They were standing in a large round arena with a circle of noble Iron Dwarves sitting at the top. If anyone went in, High Justice Grimstone, who was in charge of the arena, would close it and release a wave of monsters to destroy the challenger.
According to ancient legends, those who had been convicted could earn the forgiveness of their Dwarf ancestors as long as they could defeat the various ferocious creatures from around Azeroth presented in the arena. But so far, many had just paid the price with their blood. The rocky grounds of the arena had been dyed black and purple, but no one had ever succeeded.
“You have been convicted of a crime against the Kingdom of Iron!” Grimstone screamed. “The subjects of Xorith will now watch you die in this arena!”
“Dammit, that sounds difficult,” Azure Sea Breeze said as he tightened his grip on his shield and looked at the NPC monster standing high above. He couldn’t help but gulp. These star players had plenty of experience, but they couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable with so many people watching.
Who knew if these monsters would jump in and swarm them like bees? They were just a team of fifteen players.
“Pay attention to the monsters. Watch our three o’clock.”
Just as Lu Li spoke, a large group of Dark Screechers emerged from the door at three o’clock.
Dark Screechers looked like giant bats and moved at an incredible speed, while also being able to detect Stealth. Azure Sea Breeze was quickly being overwhelmed by them and the others couldn’t help but go numb at this creepy scene.
Fortunately, the Dark Screechers were still monsters. So as long as there was a main tank to pull them, the others would have time to fight.
After clearing out the monsters, High Justice Grimstone appeared again without giving them a moment to rest.
“Did you think that that would be all? Don’t be naïve. Ok’thor the Breaker will teach you true despair.”
Ok’thor the Breaker was a Boss, and was a double-headed ogre.
The moment it appeared, it started channeling what they anticipated to be a powerful skill.
In Dawn, the longer a skill channel, the stronger it generally was. This was the principle at work in this Boss. It was probably channeling a skill for an area of effect attack.
“Breezy, pull it into a corner. Everyone else, just keep dealing damage to the Boss.”
Lu Li’s command came a bit late as the double-headed ogre had now completed its channeling. All the players were enveloped in an arcane storm and seven of them died at once.
Lu Li really wanted to cry out loud.
Losing half of their players like that was basically a death sentence, so the second time around, Azure Sea Breeze was smarter. When Ok’thor the Breaker appeared, he immediately cast Taunt and the others hid behind the Boss’ back.
This time, they managed to persevere through the skill and finally cleared the second Boss.
Perhaps it was because they were in an arena, but Ok’thor the Breaker dropped a Savage Gladiator Leggings for a Chain Mail profession. These could usually be traded in to the quartermaster for Glory Points, which was naturally what most players wanted to save.
If the item was for Chain Mail Armored players, that meant that Hunters should have priority before Shamans. As such, Hot Twitch ultimately received the item.
For an average player, this piece of equipment was a little weak. However, Hot Twitch was a PVP player and was quite satisfied with this item.
There was also a Dark Gold ring for Mages. The fact that it was a Dark Gold item already made it quite valuable, which meant that both Sorrowless and Unforgettable Maple wanted it. The two players rolled for it and Sorrowless barely managed to win.
The rest of the items were just rubbish and weren’t worth being mentioned.
After a short rest, Spider Demon Anub’shiah and Hedrum the Creeper were summoned to the fight.
These were two spider monsters that looked somewhat similar. They both had eight shiny black eyes and the only difference between them was their color. Lu Li and the others were facing both of these Bosses at the same time.
“Breezy, Sea Breaker, you guys pull one each. Separate the Bosses,” Lu Li said.
“I don’t know if I can do it,” Sea Breaker was a bit embarrassed. From all the times he had fought in an Instance Dungeon, he had very little experience in independently tanking a monster. Even though he had a set of exquisite defensive equipment, he wasn’t as good as those who were professional monster tanks.
