Chapter 1020: An Unwanted Sword

“Such a shame! My sword!” The darkness faded from the eyes of Marduk the Black, as held his broken sword. If his sword was perfect, he wouldn’t have lost so easily.
With this sigh, Ruling Sword had successfully defeated the fourth Boss in Scholomance.
“Haha, skill points! I haven’t gotten a skill point in so long!” Azure Sea Breeze’s laughed.
Scholomance was truly a worthwhile dungeon. The Bosses were different to the ones in Stratholme, which only chased after the tanks. This often caused Azure Sea Breeze to die and lose experience, but now he had received a skill point.
He happily used it on one of his defense abilities and felt like his skin had grown another thick layer.
Lu Li gave him the most disgusted look; there was no way he would admit that he was just jealous. On a side note, the four Bosses had given out 3 skill points in total. Why hadn’t he received a single one?
As per usual, Remnant Dream approached the corpse.
Ebon Hilt of Marduk – a Dark Gold item, with high attack and a corrosive special effect. It seemed like a good weapon, one that an ordinary player could only dream of.
If Lu Li had managed to lay his hands on this sword in his previous life, his problems would have been solved.
But…
“Hmm, how come no one has said anything? Who wants this sword?” Lu Li asked.
“I’m a healer Paladin,” Mu Qiu said, shrugging his shoulders. Even though he needed a certain amount of Attack from his weapons, his priority remained on healing.
Meanwhile, Wandering was eyeballing the new weapon with disgust.
“Mine isn’t too far away from this one, but it looks way better.”
“I’m used to double swords,” Her Tear said as his eyes shifted.
“Damn, why are you all looking at me?” Azure Sea Breeze exclaimed as he jumped up. “Unless you guys aren’t deducting guild points for this, don’t pass me your junk. If anyone tries to force this on me, I’m gonna have a fight with them!”
All the equipment distributed amongst this team wasn’t given out for free; they required guild points.
Different levels and Attributes from the weapon would give it a different point value. The System also provided data, called Gear Points, to help players evaluate the loot. Usually, points were deducted based on this.
The Ebon Hilt of Marduk was a level 50 Dark Gold weapon, but there was no way Azure Sea Breeze was going to take it.
The others didn’t want it either and everyone else had no requirements for a single-handed sword. Hence, it was miserably forsaken.
It could only end up in the guild storage, waiting until the day when someone would have enough points to claim it.
The poor grew poorer while the rich got richer – this was a prime example.
“Death Knight Sabatons, Dark Gold equipment,” Remnant Dream announced as she shared the data of the shoes with everyone.
“Good stuff. I want it, I want it!” Azure Sea Breeze looked as if he was about to go up and snatch it.
“You’re a defensive class – why would you need a pair of shoes like this?” Moonlight wasn’t the type to talk. If it wasn’t for the fact that this pair of shoes was too tempting, he wouldn’t have jumped out to try and snatch them.
The most valuable aspect of these shoes was the movement speed. They provided a 25% movement speed boost, which was the same as Lu Li’s Champion Boots.
They also came with a jumping effect, which was useful for ambushes and escapes. With both speed and mobility, there were no better shoes for PVP.
The distribution ended up being a competition between Moonlight and Her Tears.
Azure Sea Breeze and Wandering’s comments were completely ignored by Lu Li.
“Share your guild point numbers to me. Don’t cheat – show me the real numbers. I can check from my end,” Lu Li warned.
“There might be better things later. Do you have enough points?” Moonlight asked, worried for his competitor.
“Yo, hard to imagine Moonlight would try and play mind games too. Xiaorou, don’t be scared. Do it, do it!” Azure Sea Breeze chanted, trying to stir the pot.
In most teams, the leader would give a base price, and the others would bid on top of that.
However, this would often end with two players fighting angrily, so Lu Li preferred to conduct the auction privately. All parties would put forward a number higher than the base price and whoever gave the bigger number would receive the item.
The numbers were sent to Lu Li, who glanced at them and passed the shoes to Her Tears.
“How many points?” Azure Sea Breeze asked keenly.
“Moonlight 2000, Xiaorou 2333.”
Lu Li couldn’t bring himself to look at Moonlight’s desperate face. He probably thought that Her Tears would have listened to him and given out a low price. Who would have thought that he lost a pair of shoes, ones that were equivalent to a pair of Legendary shoes, with only a 300 point difference.
“Haha, thank you Moonlight. I’ll lend it to you next time in the competition.”
Her Tears was overjoyed. He had used up nearly all the points that he had. If Moonlight really wanted to compete against him seriously, he had no chance at all. After all, Moonlight was a PVE player, but he also played in competitions and had plenty of points to spare.
If Moonlight had asked around for Her Tears’ total points, there would be no way he could have lost that.
“Glory Capital is still wiping…” Square Root 3 messaged. This made others feel sorry for them and also impressed with Lu Li’s directing abilities.
“Find a way and sell the strategy to them,” Lu Li said as he sent it over.
“My God! Lu Li, what’s your problem?” Square Root 3 couldn’t believe his ears. Lu Li had to be crazy. There were only a few sentences sent over, but they were enough to save Glory Capital from their situation.
“They’ll get there eventually; we might as well gain some profit from it,” Lu Li explained honestly, then continued, “Giving it to Glory Capital isn’t all that bad either. First, it destroys the image of their celebrity players. Second, I’m also worried that he might take extreme procedures.”
Celebrity players were a concept that the community had just come up with.
In the beginning, all of these players were just nerdy men who were broke.
Then, clubs began to form and the value of these competitors began to rise with their income, but they were still regarded the same.
It wasn’t until later when many industries began to collapse and gamers began to increase by a huge number that the new gaming industry formed and the concept of celebrity players began to emerge.
