Chapter 1069: Tyrannical

Lu Li saw that Ruling Sword’s opponent was Blue Universe and couldn’t help but grin. He didn’t make it obvious, but Square Root 3 was watching him and saw it.
“What does that expression mean?” Square Root 3 was a bit shocked.
There were 15 other teams in the top 16, and there were only two of them that he didn’t want to run into – Drizzle Court and Blue Universe. He didn’t even care if he ran into Glory Capital, because they had to fight them at some point if they wanted to win the Championship.
When the other players came over, they also had vacant expressions.
“Hey boss, you won’t make us show mercy right?” Fat Monkey asked, his face looking constipated.
“Oh dear, he’s going to be misled by a woman,” Sakura Memories said as she spat to one side.
Moonlight unexpectedly came over and gripped Lu Li’s shoulder. He sighed deeply before saying, “Brother, women really are troublesome beings. It’s best… actually, forget it. You don’t have enough experience to realize it.”
“Oh, is that so? I guess men are just the best…” Sakura Memories slowly crept over and stared at Moonlight.
Moonlight looked at her sheepishly and quickly fled in defeat.
“Alright, let’s not fuss over it. We’re going to go all out,” Lu Li said as he clapped his hands together, setting the tone for the upcoming game.
“Go all out?”
Everyone was stunned. What happened to their relationship? Did their relationship break down? Was he now going to take revenge in the competitive arena?
“Yes, oppress them tyrannically. Don’t give them anything to work with.”
Lu Li didn’t bother explaining any more than that before getting ready to enter the competition.
On Blue Universe’s end, they weren’t too happy about fighting an ally either.
In fact, Ruling Sword didn’t even need to go all out in the top 16. As long as they didn’t make any crucial mistakes, they would get through this phase, especially with Lu Li’s sudden increase in Strength. There were very few players who were on Lu Li and Moonlight’s level.
If wanted to take care of their ally, they could actually concede the individual rounds and the group rounds and it still wouldn’t affect their promotion.
As long as it didn’t affect their promotion, the additional rankings beyond that didn’t mean much.
In this case, the stronger team was supposed to let the weaker team win. Otherwise, players wouldn’t be so careful when forming alliances.
If they could defeat Ruling Sword, the probability of Blue Universe qualifying for the quarterfinals was at least 20%!
Unfortunately, Blue Universe had come to this conclusion on their own.
The old team members and Flying Fish Hater had joined Misty Story to form the seven newcomers from Blue Universe’s lineup. They had proved themselves by entering the top 16, but they didn’t want to be a part of Drizzle Court anymore, so they accepted Water Fairy’s father’s support and become an independent club.
Double Dimension made the same kind of choice, which gave them a certain kind of autonomy similar to Floating Clouds.
When Drizzle Court funded them, they were taken to be part of the Shen Group. Since they had created other clubs within the Shen Group, it was easy for the Shen Group to manage them.
Over the years, Water Fairy now only had influence over a few guilds left in the game – Drizzle Court, Peerless City, Concealed Heavens and Misty Story. The number had dropped from eight to four, which was why she was annoyed at her father for inhibiting her progress.
In fact, other people in the industry could obviously see that these clubs were very different. It could be said that Peerless City alone was more valuable than any of the other clubs.
Peerless City’s performance had been amazing. In fact, their strength had most likely come independent of Drizzle Court. However, during their time of troubles, the high level members all had the same opinion and wanted to stay affiliated with Drizzle Court at all costs.
Although they could still take out more capital from the Shen Group since they were still part of it, this would put more strain between the relationship between the father and the daughter. As such, they didn’t dare to take that too far.
When Lu Li saw their opponents, he almost laughed out loud.
They could easily defeat these players if they wanted to.
Of course, it wasn’t that he was disgusted with the Blue Universe players. Everyone had to make their own choices and all efforts for glory at the championship were worthy of respect.
In fact, what would happen if Drizzle Court and Peerless City met in the finals was a topic that everyone had talked about. Unfortunately, those circumstances had never arisen before.
In the reserve area, Blue Universe’s new party leader was staring at the entrance. When he saw Lu Li walking in with his teammates, he felt like he was suffocating.
Their professional Mage Sindra was a bit more experienced. He pushed the leader’s arm and said, “Party Leader, stay calm and go greet them. We can’t be afraid of them. Even if we lose, we can’t let them impose on us.”
Who would have thought that they would run into an ally so soon after forming an agreement with Water Fairy?
They couldn’t help but think about the karmic cycle as they approached their opponents.
And how was it possible not to fear Ruling Sword? Any team fighting Ruling Sword would feel some pressure, especially the new lineup of a B-grade team.
“Hi Lu Li.”
The party leader was enthralled as he approached, and held out his hand.
“Hello, we don’t have much time left, but we’ll see you in the arena.”
Lu Li didn’t say much and shook hands with the opposition before going back to make sure everything was in order.
The two looked quite awkward from an outsider’s perspective.
In addition to introducing the two teams, the commentators gave a description of the achievements each team had. There wasn’t much else to say because these teams had been introduced many times recently, so the commentators read out some messages left by players on the forums.
One of the trending topics was obviously, “Boycott this match – they are both affiliated with Drizzle Court!”
Most players knew of the relationship between Blue Universe and Drizzle Court. They also knew that Ruling Sword and Drizzle Court were allies. Since Ruling Sword already had enough points to promote, they were definitely going to help Blue Universe.
However, if Ruling Sword did that, then it wouldn’t even be a competition anymore. The players had paid to watch a match, not an act.
The commentator didn’t really know how to respond to that. Instead he dryly said that he believed that the players today would fight in the spirit of the game and defend their honor to the best of their abilities.
It wasn’t like they were part of the same family, so they didn’t have to help each other.
However, when Ruling Sword’s player appeared, the audience was dumbfounded. Why was it Lu Li? Why did Lu Li appear?
If they were going to throw the match, they had to select their players carefully. They couldn’t just casually throw the match because it would bring shame to the club and the player.
Generally speaking, when Glory Capital threw the match against Stellar Union, they had made it a bad matchup so it wouldn’t be shameful even if they lost.
However, Lu Li had appeared and he was the best player in the competition. He had to be planning to take down Blue Universe!
