Chapter 973: Nightslayer

They started with the First Boss, O’Brien.
The first item was a Dark Gold Polearm which had great attributes and special effects. It also wasn’t exclusive to any profession, so the Warriors, Paladins, Druids and Hunters who could use it were all competing for it.
The player who managed to roll for it was ecstatic.
The second item was a Dark Gold Leather Pants Mold. It was produced the Nightslayer Leather pants and was taken by Lu Li.
“Is this equipment any good?” Water Fairy asked through private message.
“It’s not bad,” Lu Li said. He knew that he couldn’t seem too eager, otherwise, his emotions would expose him. In fact, he was incredibly excited about getting this item. He didn’t even think that this Boss would drop it.
There were a number of sets that had been dropped so far, but this was where the T equipment sets truly began.
At Stratholme, they had come into contact with a T0 set, which was a level 50 set. There was also a T0.5 set, which wasn’t directly dropped by monsters but had to be upgraded from the T0 set.
After completing the T0.5 set, the pieces would be equivalent to level 55 equipment.
This set was sought after by many players, but it couldn’t compare against the actual level 55 set. The Pants that could be created from the Mold were part of the Nightslayer set, which was the legendary T1 set.
From level 60 onwards, there would be the T1.5 Madcap Set, T2 Bloodfang Set, T2.5 Deathdealer Set and T3 Bonescythe Set. Of course, the Attributes of these sets would keep becoming better.
Lu Li didn’t plan to acquire the T0 set because it was just too troublesome and would soon become obsolete. Even if it was upgraded to T0.5, he still needed to wait until level 55 to wear it. It was better for him to start collecting the T1 set now. As for the level 55 Level Requirement, this could be solved with some level-reducing gemstones.
As long as he could find a gem that reduced the level requirement by 10%, he would be able to equip this item at level 50.
Although gems that reduced level requirement was getting harder and harder to find as everyone needed them, Lu Li knew of some methods to obtain them.
This way, he would be able to maintain his lead in terms of having the best equipment.
By maintaining his level and equipment lead, he would be able to perform well, even if he wasn’t particularly talented.
In fact, there were many players who had the same idea, especially the star players and tycoons. However, the tycoons struggled the most, as they had no way to get these gems except through the market. All they could do was offer a large sum of money for them.
The third item was a Dark Gold Magic Cloak.
This time, there weren’t any skill books. Instead, there were two Gems, a Strengthening Stone and two rare materials.
The first Boss had dropped eight items, which wasn’t much worse than Elfin. Of course, it hadn’t dropped an Epic item, which was a pity.
It was a level 55 Wild Boss with the First Clear bonus – how could it not have dropped an Epic item?
However, there were not official promises about Wild Bosses, so the players couldn’t do much beyond complain. Soon, their attention was focused on the third Boss and the items it would drop.
Lu Li hoped to acquire another Thief T1 item, but even he felt like this was just wishful thinking.
The first item was an Epic Shield!
After its name and grade was announced, the whole of Ruling Sword was filled with joy.
Any fool knew that this meant Ruling Sword’s Main Tank could become even stronger, which meant that Instance Dungeons and Bosses would be easier.
Lu Li was also surprised that an Epic Shield had been dropped.
As long as the Shield’s Attributes weren’t horrible, it would be worth more the Shaman-exclusive Magic Staff that Drizzle Court had received.
It was Earthen Guard!
The Rockjaw were a kind of Earthen monster, so it wasn’t unusual for this item to be dropped here.
This Shield was known for its superb Defence and Constitution Attributes. It also had four very powerful special effects, and was perfect for a Main Tank. The most important part was that it had a level 50 Level Requirement, so Azure Sea Breeze could immediately equip it.
This kind of Shield had to be officially assigned by the guild, even though there was no doubt that Azure Sea Breeze should have it. The Dark Gold Shield that it replaced was still heavily contested by the other Main Tanks in the guild.
Then, there was a Dark Gold Cloth Bracer, which was taken by Fat Monkey, and a Dark Gold Plate Belt, which was given to another Main Tank.
A pair Gold Leather Boots were given to Scarlet New Moon, while the Priest Skill Book ‘Enhanced Regeneration’ was naturally assigned to March Rain. Enhanced Regeneration was a supportive skill that gave the target a State of continuous HP regeneration.
Two gems were also dropped, one of which reduced level requirements by 10%. In addition to those gems, there were also two Strengthening Stones, but no rare materials.
This Boss had dropped Epic equipment, Enhanced Skill books and a gem that reduced level requirements. This was a surprise to everyone, and even the players that didn’t receive anything were encouraged. Someone would later evaluate the value of these items, and distribute points among the players accordingly. Better items meant that they would receive more points.
Even the players of Drizzle Court were envious of the Ruling Sword harvest.
They had all received huge rewards today, but the most valuable thing was not the equipment. It was the three First Clear World Announcements.
That couldn’t be bought no matter how much money you had.
The first Boss had produced two rare materials, the second Boss produced one and the third produced none. There were three rare materials in total, and Lu Li had generously given two of them to Drizzle Court.
“The mobs also dropped quite a few equipment and materials. How do we split those?” Water Fairy asked.
“Let’s just roughly split it evenly,” Lu Li said. He didn’t care much about those items, but when he later saw that there were a few Darkmoon Cards, he regretted his decision.
These cards were a set that could be combined to form a complete deck. For example, Lu Li had previously obtained ‘Darkmoon Card: Void’. Most of these cards were drops from monsters that were level 50 or higher, and some could be obtained from Treasure Chests.
In the end, Lu Li scored two of them. The price he paid was to tell Water Fairy what they were used for.
“Thank you for inviting us to fight the Boss today,” Water Fairy said softly next to Lu Li as they watched the players continue to clear the battlefield.
“You’re welcome – I should be thanking you.”
Lu Li walked with Water Fairy to Haggle, who was sitting on the floor.
“I have to say, your friends are quite strong and you have quite a few of them.”
Haggle had suffered a minor injury, but nothing fatal.
