What Would The Woman Have Done?
“Nox, I’m sorry.” Lucian apologized to his younger brother after the crowd’s attention moved away from
them. “I didn’t hold onto you properly and you ended up being squeezed away in the crowd…”
Nox looked at his brother in a manner that showed he did not mind. “There are too many people here,
so it’s not your fault. Besides, I wasn’t lost. It was fun playing with the drums just now.”
Hearing him say this, Lucian frowned and was silent for a few seconds. He then slowly nodded and did
not forget to promise him, “Either way, I’ll definitely hold onto you firmly in the future. This won’t ever
happen again!”
Nox nodded vigorously while gripping his brother’s hand tightly.
Estie, who was at the side, also came in to join in the fun. “I will too! I’ll hold Lu’s and No’s hands!”
After saying that, the little girl took Nox’s little hand with a serious expression on her face.
The children held each other’s hands, their faces filled with seriousness. It was somewhat moving to
look at them.
Rosalie smiled and reminded the boy softly, “Nox, come over and thank Mister Byron.”
Hearing this, the little boy could not help but be stunned for a moment.
“Mister Byron found you,” Rosalie explained.
Hearing this, the boy subconsciously raised his head and looked at the man in front of him.
Byron just so happened to be obstructing the moonlight, when the boy saw his face that was dark and
unclear, he did not know what sort of expression he was wearing.
However, since his mommy had said so, the boy thanked him obediently, “Thankyou, Mister.”
Byron nodded noncommittally. “No need for thanks. You’re very smart and knew to wait here.”
Praised by his daddy all of a sudden, the boy was stunned for a moment. He then touched his nose
embarrassedly.
The beach was not so crowded anymore after the fireworks show.
Although Rosalie had lingering concerns, she thought that the children might still be afraid. Hence, she
took them on a walk on the beach.
It just so happened that the weather was good and the sea was very quiet, so the children wanted to go
play on the beach. Rosalie agreed and let them run to the beach while she waited.
Byron stood beside her silently.
The two stared at the children for a while. After confirming that there would be no danger, Rosalie
turned around and looked at Byron.
“It’s all thanks to you that we were able to find Nox tonight. Thank you.”
Byron met her gaze inexplicably and laughed. “Don’t thank me. It’s Nox who’s smart.”
Byron was a little surprised when he heard what the boy said. He did not expect the little boy to be so
smart.
If he had not looked for him, the boy would have presumably found them.
Rosalie smiled indifferently. “If you hadn’t found him, who knows how long I’d have to worry?”
Byron’s eyes darkened slightly, and he could not help feeling a little sullen.
There were times when this woman could not take care of two kids on her own.
He could not imagine what the woman would have done if he had not been here tonight.
Would she really have squeezed through the crowd with Lucian? What would happen to her if she lost
Lucian as well?
Thinking of this, Byron became even more disgusted with the boys’ biological father.
Rosalie did not know what he was thinking, when she did not hear a response from Byron after a long
time, she did not continue speaking. She turned to watch the children play from a distance.
The moonlight was sprinkling onto the sea. It also shone onto the children, coating them in a layer of
silver light. From a distance, the children looked like little fairies who had descended upon the mortal
world.
