When Old Master Quirke was bedridden, the Lancer family had also regularly sent many doctors over
to improve his health, but since Old Master Quirke was too weak, they did not dare to use methods that
were too aggressive.
From what they had heard from Old Master Quirke, this woman went all out, even stepping into
dangerous waters while trying her methods, she then successfully cured old Master Quirke.
After listening to Rosalie’s analysis, Xander could not help but ask, “At that time, with old Master
Quirke’s health being at the state that it was, on what basis did you decide to use such a method?”
Rosalie was slightly stunned, she remembered how she was just pushing her luck when she decided to
go all out, but if she were to say that to Xander, he might not believe her since the approach she took
was far too risky.
Thinking about that, Rosalie hesitated for a while before she explained, “I read it somewhere in a book
previously. It was pure luck that Old Master Quirke had a similar condition as what was written in the
book, so I decided to try.”
Xander nodded in comprehension and had no doubt at all.
Quentin did own a book collection, and since Rosalie was Quentin’s student, it was not surprising that
she had read those books.
Besides, Rosalie was still so young, so Xander did not believe one bit that she would be so medically
skilled.
“It’s all thanks to you and that method of yours, old Master Quirke wouldn’t have recovered as quickly if
it weren’t for you.”
Rosalie smiled humbly.
The two of them chatted for a while more, and Xander was always polite, unarming Rosalie’s mental
defenses one by one.
She assumed that Xander, being a Lancer, would be slightly arrogant. She did not expect the Lancers
to have such a great upbringing for Xander to be the gentleman he was.
It would be a pleasant experience working together with him.
The staff came over and knocked on the door. “Young Master Xander, the free clinic is ready. The
children are waiting.”
Xander’s face quickly became solemn. “It’s almost time, Dr. Jacobs. Let’s get changed.”
Rosalie nodded and followed the staff to have her clothes changed.
As soon as she had left the changing room, she bumped into Leon.
Even though Rosalie was mentally well prepared, since the free clinic was about to begin, she could
not help but feel a little nervous. When she saw a familiar face, her uptight nerves loosened a little as
she smiled and greeted Leon, “Hi, Leon.”
Leon smiled as he patted her shoulder. “Don’t be nervous. Just take it as a normal clinic visit for the
kids. You’ll be fine.”
Rosalie merely smiled.
The two of them were talking when Xander exited the changing room. “You’re ready? Let’s go.”
Xander’s facial expression was dead serious since he was about to start work, and the aura he emitted
began to morph into razor sharp focus.
Rosalie paused for a moment and glanced at Leon subconsciously.
Leon smiled. “He knows we knew each other and was just asking me about you. My apologies. It
seems like your efforts were futile.”
The efforts he mentioned were basically Rosalie choosing to go to the clinic alone to avoid any
misunderstanding.
Since Xander already knew that they knew each other, Rosalie had nothing else to hide, she nodded at
Leon as a greeting and walked beside him as they left.
In just a few minutes, the number of medical equipment that was present in place had increased
exponentially. 1
Rosalie scanned the surroundings.
Even though the Lancers were firm believers of holistic medicine for generations, there was still
Western medical equipment to provide better healthcare for the children.
The doctors who were queueing had entered their respective rooms. All of them had kind and friendly
smiles on their faces as they looked at the children who were standing in lines far away, waiting for
them to enter.
It all looked extremely formal.
