Have More Confidence in Yourself
Byron frowned and murmured, “I see. I’ll try my best to restrain myself.”
Andrius sighed in relief, then turned and walked to Old Master Quirke’s room. “Grandpa should be
awake by now, so go in and see him. Since you haven’t been here in so long, Grandpa will be very
happy to see you.”
Byron followed after Andrius. “I’ve been really busy.”
“You say that, but you still had time to follow Dr. Jacobs to s City,” Andrius teased.
Just thinking about what had happened in s City brought a sour expression to Byron’s face. “I just
happened to have a project that I had to deal with in s city.”
Andrius smiled knowingly but said nothing.
The two walked to the door of old Master Quirke’s room. Andrius raised his hand and knocked on the
door. After hearing Old Master Quirke’s response from inside, he opened the door and walked in.
“Grandpa, Byron’s here to see you,” Andrius said to old Master Quirke with a smile.
Byron respectfully greeted old Master Quirke, “Hello, old Man Quirke.”
Old Master Quirke had just woken up. He propped himself up on the bed, wanting to sit up.
Andrius quickly stepped forward to help him, while Byron picked up a glass from the table. He filled it
with water, then handed it to Old Master Quirke.
Old Master Quirke took a sip from the glass and looked at the person standing by his bedside with a
smile. “Have things settled down at the company?”
Byron nodded. “I happen to be free these two days, so I came to see you. How has your health been?”
Old Master Quirke happily replied, “My health is much better now. You young people should be
worrying about yourselves. Don’t just focus on your work. You have to take care of your body too.”
“I will, don’t worry.”
From the side, Andrius reminded in a low voice, “Grandpa, Dr. Jacobs is here too. She’s waiting
downstairs.”
When Old Master Quirke heard that, he glared at Andrius reproachfully. “Well, why didn’t you say so?
Come here and help me up.”
Andrius carefully helped old Master Quirke out of bed.
Downstairs, Rosalie waited for a while. When she saw Old Master Quirke coming downstairs, she
stood up respectfully and greeted him.
Old Master Quirke smiled and waved his hand at her. “Take a seat. No need to be so formal.”
Rosalie waited until old Master Quirke had taken his seat on the couch before sitting down herself.
Andrius silently sat on the side farther away from Rosalie, leaving the seat beside her to Byron.
When Rosalie saw Byron sitting so close to her, she pursed her lips slightly and inched away, trying to
increase the distance between them as much as possible.
Byron frowned in displeasure at her action.
“The free clinic is starting on the weekend. How have preparations been for the orphanage on the
outskirts of the city?” old Master Quirke knew nothing of the thoughts going through the others’ minds
and looked at Rosalie with concern.
Rosalie replied, “Preparations are almost ready. I’ve been studying content related to congenital
diseases in children for the past few days.”
Knowing that the free clinics run by the Lancer family in recent years had all been aimed at children
with congenital diseases, Rosalie deliberately searched for previous case studies and even studied
other cases that the Lancer family had cured before. From this, she was able to sum up ample
experience.
Old Master Quirke smiled, satisfied. “It seems that you’ve put in a lot of effort, but you don’t need to put
too much pressure on yourself. No matter what, you’re still a student of Quentin, so you should have
more confidence in yourself.”
Rosalie nodded obediently.
Old Master Quirke looked at Andrius again and instructed, “Help me bring the letter of recommendation
down. It’s in the drawer of the study room upstairs.”
Andrius nodded, then got up and went upstairs. Before leaving, he looked at Byron worriedly, fearing
that his dear friend would start speaking out against Rosalie again while he was away.
