The Atmosphere Is Very Heavy
Rosalie was, of course, not just being polite when she said she wanted to treat Andrius to a meal.
That night, she reserved a restaurant before sending Andrius a message saying that they would meet
during the weekend.
Andrius agreed before forwarding the message to Byron. [Byron, let’s go together?]
Rosalie was treating him to this meal to thank him, and Byron had also made a large contribution to this
matter. He should go with him.
On the other end, Byron frowned when he saw the message Andrius sent. He was a little hesitant.
Who knew if the woman would run off if he were to appear?
Just when he was hesitating, Andrius sent another message again. [Dr. Jacobs is treating me to a meal
to thank me. Although she doesn’t know, you also made contributions. It’s only right for you to be
treated as well.]
Reading his message, Byron’s gaze sunk slightly. He raised his hand and tapped the screen a few
times.
Andrius waited for a long time before he got his reply.
[Then, let’s go together.]
Seeing this, Andrius raised his brow slightly. He was ready to watch the scene play out on the
weekend.
Looking at Dr. Jacobs and Byron, it was obvious that there was some conflict between the two of them.
What was more, Melody was right in the middle.
Their relationship must be very rigid during this time.
He wondered what the scene would be like when they saw each other on the weekend.
That weekend night, Rosalie arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes earlier than the agreed time.
She saw two men sitting inside the moment she entered.
Andrius was talking to Byron with his head tilted. Hearing the door open, the two of them looked toward
it simultaneously.
“Dr. Jacobs.” Andrius stood up and greeted her with a smile.
Rosalie nodded slightly, but her heart was in turmoil.
The eyes of the person beside Andrius fell on her, and for a moment, she just wanted to turn around
and leave.
However, doing that would be too embarrassing…
Rosalie stood at the door, unable to advance or retreat.
Byron just sat in his seat in the private room with a blank expression. His eyes fell on Rosalie like a
beast that had locked on its prey. His body was shrouded with a sense of danger.
For a while, the atmosphere in the room was very heavy.
Andrius noticed that his friend’s mood was a bit off and touched his arm calmly before explaining to
Rosalie with a nonchalant smile, “I happened to bump into Byron who was just done with his business
meeting here when I arrived just now. since we all know each other, I asked him to come and take a
seat. I don’t suppose you mind, Dr. Jacobs?”
These words seem to be fishing for Rosalie’s opinion, but they did not give her any other choice.
They were already sitting inside. If she were to refuse, it would come off as too deliberate.
Moreover, Andrius was not aware of the relationship between them. If she were to show resistance
toward Byron, it might look strange to him.
Rosalie did not want to be questioned about her relationship with Byron again.
The two individuals in the private room did not know what she was thinking. They only saw that her
expression was slightly constricted, she did not answer them after a long time. They looked at each
other.
Andrius was a little remorseful deep down. He felt that it was a bit obtrusive for him to have brought
Byron here today, what if the divide between them became even greater…
Byron’s eyes were dark as he stood up expressionlessly, “since Dr. Jacobs is here, I won’t disturb your
business talk.”
Having said that, he began to leave.
Only then did Rosalie come back to her senses. She said in a distant voice, “President Lawrence, since
you’re a friend of Young Master Quirke’s, of course, there’s no reason for me to turn away a guest.
Since you’re here, let’s sit down and eat together.”
