Take A stand
After nearly half an hour, Andrea came back she was still swaggering when she came in and only
restrained herself when she saw Old Master Quirke sitting on the sofa.
“Grandpa, you’re here…” Andrea inexplicably felt guilty.
Old Master Quirke glanced at her unhappily and let out a cold hum.
Andrea touched her nose but still made nothing of it. She slowly walked up to the two, wanting to take a
seat.
“Stand there!” Andrius shouted angrily.
Andrea’s movements suddenly halted. Reluctance was written all over her face, but with the old master
present, she retreated and stood opposite them in an unreconciled manner.
“Do you know why I called you back?!” Andrius questioned.
Andrea’s lips curled as she pretended to be puzzled. “I don’t know. I was out shopping when you
suddenly called me back And you sounded very mad.”
Andrius’ expression was cold. “Were you the one who instructed Don not to supply the drugs to Dr.
Jacobs’ research institute?”
Andrea nodded noncommittally, her expression unapologetic.
Seeing her attitude, Andrius and the old master looked at each other. Their brows furrowed as they
looked confused.
They did not know what was going on between Andrea and Rosalie, but ever since they met, Andrea
had kept targeting Rosalie in various ways.
At present, she had even almost affected the Quirke family because of her personal dissatisfaction, yet
Andrea still did not think that she was wrong.
“Why did you do it?” Andrius frowned and asked.
Andrea looked surprised. “Brother, don’t you know? All the medicinal material suppliers out there have
been warned by Lawrence Corporation not to cooperate with Rosalie. If we were to continue supplying
Rosalie with medicinal materials, won’t that mean we’re going against Lawrence Corporation?”
Hearing this, surprise flashed through Andrius’ eyes.
No wonder Rosalie said all the medicinal material suppliers who were working with the research
institute had ended their partnerships when she came here this morning.
However, she had only briefly mentioned it.
Unexpectedly, it was Lawrence Corporation who was behind this.
It was just that… Recalling the time when Byron met Rosalie, there had been no hostility between
them. Byron had even defended Rosalie quite a bit, so why would he target her now?
Just when he was puzzled, Andrea’s voice sounded again, “Aunt Melody probably didn’t formally tell
US about it considering our friendship with the Lawrences, but since we’re friends with them, shouldn’t
we naturally take their side seeing this situation? If we still supply medicinal materials to Rosalie’s
research institute as promised, it’s obvious that we’ll be going against Aunt Melody. Aunt Melody will be
unhappy by then, who’s to say they won’t come knocking on our door?”
Andrius frowned slightly. “You said this was Aunt Melody’s idea. Why did she do this?”
Andrea glanced at him and smiled a little triumphantly. “I don’t suppose you know this, then. Rosalie is
Byron’s ex-wife, and Aunt Melody has been unhappy with her for a long time now. It just so happened
that—”
She did not like the woman as well and seized this opportunity to deal with her properly!
Andrea did not vocalize the latter half, but Andrius had guessed what she was thinking and stood up
abruptly.
Andrea was startled by his action, and her voice suddenly stopped.
“Shut your mouth! what are you even saying as the lady of the Quirke family? If others had heard you,
you’d be a laughing stock! When has the Quirke family with their century-old heritage ever had to take
their stand by taking sides?” Andrius walked to his sister’s side angrily and looked down at her.
