Chapter 905: I Haven’t Told You that I Want To Be Married to You
She trailed along that person’s arm to determine the position of its head and stabbed it. In desperate times like these, she was hoping that lady luck would be in her favor. She was hoping for her aim to hit its eye to help her win an opportunity to live.
Yan Qingsi was uncertain exactly where she managed to stab that person, but the next moment, she felt the pressure on her neck, loosen. She quickly took this opportunity to swim upward to the surface. As long as the sight of her caught anyone’s attention, she would be saved.
However, she had spent too much time underwater that the oxygen in her lungs had already depleted. The fact that she had swallowed so much water and her left leg started cramping was not helping either. She gazed upon to reach the water surface as her eyelids were getting heavier. She no longer had any strength left to continue swimming toward the surface. Her weightless body drifted deeper into the lake.
Yan Qingsi laughed bitterly by herself. ‘Am I really…going to die just like this?’
As she was closing her eyes while surrounded in darkness, Yan Qingsi’s mind was filled with Yue Tingfeng’s face…
‘Yue Tingfeng, I haven’t told you that I want to be married to you!’
In the midst of sinking further into the darkness, Yan Qingsi did not notice that there were people jumping into the water.
At the riverbank, the director and his production team who stood on the bridge were feeling anxious like a cat on hot bricks. No one was holding up an umbrella despite the drizzling. At that moment, it was hard to tell if they were soaking wet from rainwater or cold sweat.
Everyone’s eyes were so focused on the lake. The director was so anxious that his voice changed, “Those who can swim go down and find her, some of you take out your phone and call… Call the firefighters… Quickly! The rest of you who can’t swim, go find those who can… Hurry up! Don’t dilly dally around here!”
The sky was getting darker and the rain was getting heavier. If they were still unable to find her now, it would be even harder later.
The director had shouted toward Yan Qingsi to come up after a few seconds of being submerged. However, he did not notice any movement. He shouted again several times but there were no signs of her.
Ji Mianmian’s face turned pale and said worriedly, “Maybe she had cramps or perhaps something bad has happened to her?” The director hurriedly called the lifeguards to come over and search the water for Yan Qingsi.
They head downward to search for Yan Qingsi at the location she submerged, a few moments ago. Unfortunately due to the dark environment, they were unable to locate her and had to widen the search area. It was challenging to carry out the search in such dark conditions with limited equipment at hand.
Ji Mianmian and Little Xu were helpless as both of them could not swim and could only wait anxiously by the riverbank.
Ji Mianmian was so worried that tears started to pour from her eyes with each passing second. The raindrops that continued falling onto the lake’s surface created ripples causing the pitch-black water surface to resemble a black hole that was swallowing everything.
At the moment when everyone was busy trying to save Yan Qingsi, a group of a dozen or more people suddenly appeared. Each of them seemed to be around twenty years old, had tall stature with an air of superiority, and were all wearing black suits. The youngster who was leading the group asked with a straight face, “Who is Yan Qingsi?”
His voice was so penetrating that it sounded like a bullet had been fired into everyone’s ear.
Ji Mianmian was crying and pointing towards the waters. “Underwater, underwater…drowning, currently still unable to find her…”
The director was an experienced and knowledgeable person. He knew that those men do not have simple backgrounds with a glance as each of them gave off an intimidating aura. He hurriedly said, “Just now after the submerging scene, she didn’t resurface. We are currently searching for her.”
Their facial expression immediately changed. The dozen or so individuals did not speak a single word and immediately jumped into the water without taking off their clothes or shoes.
After a few minutes, Ji Mianmian saw one of the men, dragging a person along while swimming toward the shore.
The cast and crew did not swim deep enough and hence naturally, they were unable to find Yan Qingsi as she had already sunk too deep.
