Chapter 789: I Will Let You Bed Me Forever
Ye Shaoguang did not wait for a response before tugging Ji Mianmian away.
It took a long while for Jiang Lai to recover. “What the f*ck? What the hell just happened?”
Helan Fangnian, who had been watching the entire exchange, walked over. “Jiang Lai, something might happen tonight,” he said. “You should be with Mrs. Yue and Tingfeng.”
Jiang Lai pulled himself together and became alert. “What’s going to happen?”
Helan Fangnian shook his head. “I don’t know. I hope that nothing will happen.”
…
Ye Shaoguang pulled Ji Mianmian over to the quietest corner in the venue.
Ji Mianmian flung Ye Shaoguang’s arm away after she came to her senses. “Oi. What are you talking about? Since when did I like you? Since when? Are you dreaming? Or did your brain got stuck between a door…”
Ye Shaoguang pushed Ji Mianmian against the corner. Under the dim lighting, his eyes were exceptionally bright. “Is Jiang Lai better looking than me?” he asked.
Ye Shaoguang’s voice was cold; it carried a tinge of intimidation.
“No.” Ji Mianmian was not someone who lied; Jiang Lai definitely was not more handsome than Ye Shaoguang.
“Then pretend that I’m your boyfriend. Try playing coy with me!”
“You? Hmph… Don’t make me laugh! The most I want to do is to bed you when I look at you. Boyfriend? This… You… No way…” Ji Mianmian forced a smile. She had not seen Ye Shaoguang for so long that his existence almost disappeared from her mind. Then he showed up out of nowhere. It really caught her off guard.
Sure, he was attractive, but just because he was attractive did not mean that he was her idol.
She could sleep with him, but… Boyfriend? Ridiculous!
“That’s right. You’ve already slept with me twice,” Ye Shaoguang said. “Since we’ve already slept together, why don’t we continue sleeping together? I’ll let you bed me forever, or maybe you could share a bed with me every day.”
“What the hell?” Ji Mianmian’s voice rang out from the corner half a beat later. “You think I’m stupid? What difference is there!”
“Of course there’s a difference…”
“Why can’t I tell—”
“You’ll know once you try it out!”
…
Yue Tingfeng pulled Yan Qingsi along with one hand and guided Mrs. Yue to sit down with the other. The waiters gradually served the dishes onto the table. The emcee of the night took the stage.
“The auction is starting,” Mrs. Yue said to Yan Qingsi. “Qingsi, remember to bid fast…”
“All right…”
“Mrs. Yue, Miss Yan here is…” asked a lady at the table.
“My future daughter-in-law,” Mrs. Yue declared proudly.
The woman gave a Yan Qingsi a peculiar stare. “She’s… pretty.”
Mrs. Yue lifted her chin. “Of course… she’s much prettier than your daughter-in-law.”
The lady’s mouth twitched for a moment. “Mrs. Yue, what are you saying?”
Mrs. Yue chuckled. “The truth. Are you going to deny others to comment on your daughter-in-law’s ugliness?”
The auction began; the woman clenched her teeth and checked her anger.
The first item to go on auction was a famous modern art piece. Yan Qingsi and Mrs. Yue had no interest toward it. They waited for quite a few auction items, yet there were no signs of the emerald necklace Mrs. Yue had set her eyes on. Instead, Mrs. Helan went onto the stage.
“Thank you all for attending this charity dinner,” she said. “All donations collected tonight will be given to the children living in rural areas. Thank you for your participation…” Mrs. Helan bowed as she finished her speech.
The audience clapped so hard it sounded like thunder. She straightened herself. “Now, I would like to use this opportunity to settle something personal,” she said. “Mrs. Yue, my dear, dear sister, I did something that made her unhappy. Today, I would like to officially apologize to her and ask for her forgiveness. At the same time… I will gift her a present as a token of my sincerity.”
Mrs. Helan looked at Mrs. Yue; her lips curled at the corners. “My dear sister, I hope you will like it!”
