Chapter 649: Yan Qingsi’s Crisis 3
Ye Shaoguang’s words knocked some sense into Ji Mianmian. He was right — she should not make a fuss. The media only cared for good headlines; they did not care about how serious a situation was— the media was full of heartless b*stards.
There had been an incident of a celebrity being kidnapped before— it shocked the media and they clambered to report it first hand. The media even followed the situation, which inevitably led to the kidnappers killing the victim.
Having the media involved never led to a good ending.
Ye Shaoguang was worried that Ji Mianmian could not keep her cool. He continued, “Once the media gets involved, it will only make the matter bigger than it needs to be. It’ll be harder to take care of it. Not only do they not help with saving her, but they can also bring about more problems for Yan Qingsi. I will investigate this matter thoroughly. Don’t be hasty. Do you hear me?”
Ji Mianmian nodded. “I understand. I hear you. I won’t let this leak…”
Even so, Ji Mianmian could not just stand and wait. She could not protect Big Sis Qingsi. She had to find her.
Without waiting for Ye Shaoguang’s instructions, she hung up and dashed out of the washroom.
Before Ye Shaoguang could instruct her, he heard the disconnected tone. Frowning, he sighed. “This impatient woman…”
He rammed on the accelerator.
He ran every red light on the way.
Traffic police were chasing him from behind. Seeing this, he drove faster than the speed of light.
In his mind, he wondered, ‘Yan Qingsi, frankly, even I don’t know why I’m rushing to save you.’
He was perplexed by his own actions. Why did he want to save her?
…
Yan Qingsi was in a daze. She did not know where she was, but she did know that she had been kidnapped.
Yan Qingsi wanted to open her eyes; she wanted to scream, but no sound would come out. She was rapidly falling unconscious.
She was panicking. It was her first time feeling so afraid. She did not know what was to come. Whatever it was… she knew it was nothing good.
Perhaps, it was death.
She was not ready to die yet— she still had many things left unfinished; she still had not said goodbye to Yue Tingfeng; she had not said anything to him.
Ah… everything was happening too fast.
Yan Qingsi was tossed into a car. The engine started and the car drove into the darkness of the night.
…
Ji Mianmian found the manager of the KTV. She told him that previously, a cleaning lady found her wallet and returned it to her— she wanted to thank the lady.
It would be the pride and joy of a manager if his employees were to do something like that. Thus, he called in all the cleaning ladies on duty that day to let Ji Mianmian see them.
However, Ji Mianmian realized that none of them was the lady she saw coming out of the washroom.
Ji Mianmian started to panic again. She asked the owner if there were any other cleaning ladies but he shook his head. He told her that these were all the cleaning ladies they hired, no one else.
Ji Mianmian froze. What if she could not find that lady? What could she do then?
Ji Mianmian yearned to report this to the police, but Ye Shaoguang was right— without evidence of an abduction, the police would not take action.
She perspired wildly. Her mind went blank. She did not know who to look for now.
Ji Mianmian thought that there was a possibility the lady had not brought Yan Qingsi out of the KTV. She searched every room one by one— she could not think of a smarter way to do this, so she could only settle with this stupid method.
When Ye Shaoguang finally found Ji Mianmian in the KTV, she was drenched in alcohol that someone poured on her and was being shooed out by a group of people in one of the rooms.
A huge, muscular man pushed Ji Mianmian out of the room, cursing at her.
Just then, Ye Shaoguang appeared behind her and grabbed Ji Mianmian. He put his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace…
