Adeena walked slowly into the banquet hall with a goblet in her hand as she turned and headed toward
the balcony. After everyone was no longer paying attention to her, she walked to the lounge through the
door at the side. This was an upper–class lounge, and the doorway was empty.

Duke, who was sitting on the couch, looked at her. “I thought you weren‘t coming.”

“Mr. Winters, you‘re the most attractive person in town. I don‘t want to be the public enemy of all
women in Sea City.” Adeena walked over and sat down at the further edge of the couch. “Speak up if
you have something to say. I‘m all ears.”

Duke swirled his drink and looked at her with a fervor gaze. “You don‘t seem to be afraid of me at all.”

“You‘re similar to everyone else. You have a pair of eyes and a mouth. Why should I be afraid of you?”
She looked calm. “If you don’t have anything to say, I shall excuse myself for now.”

Duke sighed in his heart.

‘It‘s when you‘re here with me, but you neither know how much I love you nor how much you used to
love me.‘

“Let‘s have a cup of coffee before you go.”

He snapped his fingers.

The lounge door suddenly opened, and a girl in a pink dress emerged with coffees in her hand.

Adeena was stunned.



‘Isn‘t this the talented little pianist that I met in Cloud City the other day?

‘She kept calling me Mommy...

‘Why is she here...?‘ Her eyes shifted back and forth between Duke and the little girl, and she suddenly
understood.

This little girl‘s name is Melody Winters. She‘s Mr. Winters‘ daughter. They look similar to each other.

‘Why is his daughter calling me her mommy?‘

“Aunt Deena, please have a cup of coffee,” Melody said in a choked voice.

She bent forward slightly to put the coffees on the coffee table.

Adeena looked at her. “Why are you so upset when you see me?”

“Because I‘ll think of my mommy...” Melody muttered.“

I‘m sorry that I have offended you, Aunt Deena.” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.

An hour ago, Daddy told me that the paternity test report came out, and Adeena Willis from Cloud City
is Mommy, Adina Daugherty!

‘But because of what happened four years ago, Daddy said not to call her Mommy just yet.

‘I can only ask Daddy to arrange a meeting with Mommy.

‘But whenever I meet her, I‘ll feel my heart shattering into countless pieces when I have to call her Aunt
Deena instead.‘

Her tears rolled down and landed on the back of Adeena‘s hand.



The warm tears broke Adeena‘s heart. She felt pity for Melody

“It‘s okay, don‘t cry.” Adeena carried her in her arms.“ Your mother will be sadder if she gets to know
how sad you are...”

Melody sniffed. “Okay, I won‘t cry. I won‘t cry...”

However, after she said that, she cried even harder.

‘I don‘t want Mommy to feel sad when she recalls this moment.‘ She pursed her lips, got up, and ran
out of the lounge.

Adeena was saddened too, as she pursed her lips.

After a long pause, she raised her gaze and looked at Duke, who was in front of her. “May I know what
happened to your daughter‘s mother?”
