“Mom, when the banquet ends, I‘ll get Brady to send you back to the mansion.” Mrs. Willis then said,
“Mom, you can go inside and rest first. I‘ll ask them to make you some tea in the Esilian teapot and
deliver it here.” Adeena frowned in the room and twirled her glass of red wine.
That person had intentionally lured Mdm. Willis over to stumble upon her “adulterous affair” with
Hudson. That person either wanted to ruin her reputation or force Hudson to marry her.
Who was responsible for this set–up?
Just then, someone gently pushed the room door open.
“Hey, Adeena. What are you here?” Mrs. Willis asked in surprise. “Are you here alone?”
Adeena looked up and chuckled. “Otherwise, who else could there be?” “I‘m just curious why you‘re
here alone.” Mrs. Willis stared at her for a while. “There are so many guests in the front yard. Why are
you here?” Adeena stood up and picked a glass of wine. “I found a bottle of good wine in this room. It
tastes pretty good. Would you like to try it, Aunt Hailey?” She then handed the wine glass to Mrs. Willis.
Meanwhile, she kept staring at Mrs. Willis‘ face.
She had no grudge against Mrs. Willis, so she did not understand why Mrs. Willis would use her own
son to set her up.
“I drank a lot of wine in the front yard just now. I can‘t take any more.” Mrs. Willis frowned.” Adeena, if
you have nothing to do, just go to the backyard and see if the tea‘s ready. Your grandma wants to drink
some tea.” Mrs. Willis‘ expression was so natural that she did not even ask where Hudson was.
Adeena‘s expression darkened, and she looked at Jada who was standing one step behind her. Jada
held her hands anxiously and looked down slightly, appearing guilty. Adeena handed the wine glass
over to her instead. “Mom, would you like to have a taste of this wine?”
“I...”
Jada raised her head, and her eyes were full of guilt as well as anxiety. When Adeena saw her
expression, would she still not understand? Mrs. Willis did not set her up, but her foster mother, Jada,
did! However, did Jada not try to match her with Jack? Why would she suddenly set this trap?
“Adeena...”
Just as Jada spoke, the bathroom door suddenly burst open.
Hudson rushed out without his shirt. He was drenched in water, and his face was red.
“Hudson, what‘s wrong with you?” Mdr. Willis was shocked. Mrs. Willis quickly went forward. “Hudson,
why were you in the bathroom? Why is your body so warm? Are you having a fever?”
“It‘s nothing. I just accidentally fell asleep in the bathtub.” Hudson had soaked himself in cold water for
twenty minutes, so the desire in his body was gone. He massaged his head as he said, “Mom, can you
get me another outfit? Grandma, I‘ll lie down in your room for a while. Please don‘t disturb me.”
He leaned back on the couch with narrowed eyes and rested.
Jada turned pale.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Willis hurried off to get some clothes. Mdm. Willis was worried about her grandson‘s
condition too, so none of them noticed Jada.
“Mom, let‘s go outside and talk.”
Following that, Adeena walked out of the room.
Jada closed her eyes and silently sighed. She had no choice but to walk out.
“Adeena, I didn‘t want to frame you.” Jada looked down. “I know you don‘t belong here, and I also know
that you‘ll leave Cloud City one day, but I‘m reluctant to let you go. If I had a son, I would‘ve let you
marry my son so that you could be my daughter–in–law. But I don‘t have one, so I had to...”
Adeena chuckled softly but sarcastically. “Did you arrange a ridiculous marriage without considering
what I want just to keep me here?”
“Adeena, I‘m sorry.” Jada grabbed her hand. “When I first saw you, I really adored you. I‘ve always
wanted a daughter like you.”
