He said indifferently, "Elder Murphy, please settle them down first. We’ll continue to talk about this after
my recovery.”
ElderMurphy heeded his instruction and let Elder Elliot make the arrangement.
"You may go now,” Terry dismissed Elder Murphy. Elder Murphy stole a glance at the bathroom before
he whispered, “This is the information from the investigation about the spy. I recommend you read it
now."
Terry's eyes narrowed. He opened the documents. A dozen names appeared on the first page. He
noticed a Cairnstanian called Adina Daugherty.
“Adina is the beautiful woman who appeared in Hestia Border recently...." whispered Elder Murphy.
“She's the special spy from Cairnstan. She came to obtain resources from our area...”
"Got it.” Terry closed the document.
“Get out." Elder Murphy's eyes flashed. His duty was to inform Terry of things like these. If Terry trusted
him or not, it wasn't part of his job to find out. Elder Murphy looked down and left Terry's room.
After Adina finished talking to her children inside the bathroom, she walked out to see the group of
people inside the bedroom. She could hear them talking but couldn't make out the subject of their
conversation. When the last person left the room, only then did she come out of the bathroom
completely.
Terry fixed his gaze on her. He noticed the love bites on her neck. Those were the marks he had left
behind when they were at their most intimate moment. He realized he had made love to a woman he
had only known for a few days. He didn't even know her name.
“I don't know what your name is even today," said Terry.
“I'm Adina Daugherty. You can call me Addy.” Adina sat down by the bed.
“I haven't finished talking to you." She stared at the man solemnly and spoke softly, “I've been looking
for my husband everywhere, and I ended up disappointed every time. Just when I was about to give
up, I saw you. The moment I saw your face, I felt blessed. I was afraid that my husband had died, but I
am now relieved. He's not dead yet. He's still alive..."
Her eyes lit up and illuminated the darkness in the deepest part of his heart. He had experienced life in
this sinful land for a month. He had seen, heard, and felt the darkest side of humanity. He had never
seen someone who could lighten his life.
"Terry, your real name is Duke Winters. You're from Sea City, Cairnstan. You're twenty-six years old.
You're married with four children. You disappeared suddenly at your wedding. You've been missing for
a month..." She noticed that his expression was unreadable. She stopped. She pursed her lips and
asked, "What's wrong? Did I say something wrong? Don't you believe me?" Terry looked indifferent.
“Ten minutes ago, someone said the same thing to me. They said I'm a Cairnstanian and my name is
Michael Cook. My family is in the timber business. I've also found my biological parents.”
“That's impossible!” Adina said.
“Enough of that nonsense! How about you do a paternity test? You'll understand everything once the
result is released.” Terry reached out for the paternity test report placed on the pillow next to him. He
handed the report over to Adina.
“I've conducted a paternity test to find out who my biological parents are." Adina took the report. When
she flipped to the last page, her face froze. Someone had deliberately framed Duke. Someone wanted
to make use of him so they faked the paternity report and provided him with a false pair of parents...
Regardless of what she said, Terry must assume she had malicious intentions against him, just like his
"biological parents"!
