The children sounded nervous.

Adina said as she showed them an easy smile, “I accidentally bit my lip while eating. The pepper got on
the wound, and I teared up. It‘s not a big deal. Stop panicking.”

Only then did the children calm down.

Harold asked happily, “Mommy, when will you come and fetch us home?”

Melody blinked her eyes and asked, “That‘s right, Mommy. I miss Daddy.”

She took a deep breath and said, “Your daddy is too busy with work. Once he‘s done, I‘ll ask him to
give you all a call.”



“Mommy, your dark circles have gotten worse. Get some rest,” Alden said gently.

Adina could not hold back her tears anymore. She raised the corner of her mouth and said, “Alright, I’ll
end the call now, then. Be good, okay?” Alden‘s expression turned cold when they hung up.
