Chapter 493: You Are Hurting Me Now
“So, are you admitting that you were the one who posted the photos?” Tan Mo coldly asked.
“If I do, will the university lessen my punishment?” Lin Fuxi asked, noticing that Tan Mo had already closed her laptop cover.
With the laptop off, Lin Fuxi was sure that her words wouldn’t be live-streamed for other people to watch.
That was why she could say something like that to beg for Tan Mo’s forgiveness.
Unfortunately for her, Tan Mo had already seen through it.
“Why are you still trying to play tricks at a time like this?” Tan Mo sighed and shook her head.
“What do you mean? I’m not playing tricks!” Lin Fuxi had an expression as if she was wronged by Tan Mo. “I’m sincerely apologizing to you!”
“You better watch what you’re talking about. Even if I have closed my laptop, did you forget there’s a camera on my table still recording us?” Tan Mo mocked.
Lin Fuxi quickly turned to look at Tan Mo’s table before forcing a smile. “I-I mean, what if I’m the one who did it? You all are pointing fingers at me, and I have no way of proving that I didn’t do it. I didn’t do it, but there’s nothing I can do about that. If I wasn’t forced to take the fall by you all, if… As long as you lessen the punishment, I’m willing to take the fall even when I didn’t do it.”
“What? I’m just joking about the camera.” Tan Mo suddenly laughed.
Lin Fuxi was completely caught off-guard by Tan Mo’s tease.
Tan Mo said, “The camera on my table has already been shut off. No one, except for the people present here, heard what you just said. See? When you thought people weren’t watching, you admitted that you were the one who posted the photos. When you thought the live stream was still going on, you quickly changed your attitude. You didn’t even realize what you did wrong. All you cared about is the punishment. You are worried about getting expelled and decided to act as if you would take the fall so that the punishment wouldn’t be so harsh on you.”
“Tan Mo!” Lin Fuxi finally exploded. “Do you think this is funny? I’ve already apologized! How can you make fun of me? Why can’t you let me go? Why do you have to do this to me all the time?”
“Lin Fuxi, aren’t you mistaking something? I’ve never done anything to you. Can you say one thing that I’ve done to you? How was I the one who initiated it?” Tan Mo sighed. “If you really think about it, you will see that I never tried to mess with you ever. You were the one who kept messing with me. All I did was defend myself. What? Do you think that I’m nice enough to get bullied by you all the time and not fight back? Who do you think you are? Why should I tolerate you? Even if I fought back, all I did was counter your arguments. Haven’t you heard the saying that goes the one who initiates is the wrong one? I don’t really mind if all you do is argue. I’ve never lost to you once anyway.”
The others immediately turned to look at Tan Mo with their mouths wide open. Her last sentence was clearly a taunt.
“This time, you’ve gone over the line. You tried to tarnish my name while hiding yourself behind the keyboard. Yet, are you stopping me from finding the culprit?” Tan Mo scoffed. “So, as a victim, should I endure this humiliation while you have to be forgiven for doing that? Where’s the justice in that? If you’ve done something wrong that warrants punishment, the university will do it according to the rulebook. Don’t worry, they are always fair with their punishment. They won’t punish you for what you didn’t do.”
When Tan Mo said that, all Lin Fuxi could do was scream in her head. That was the thing she was worried about the most.
Lin Fuxi quickly turned to Mr. Ji and asked, “Mr. Ji, w-will the university expel me?”
Mr. Ji did not reply to her immediately but did all the calculations in his head.
Lin Fuxi had tried to sabotage her roommate, which would tarnish the roommate’s pride.
Even now, she still did not realize what she had done wrong.
Not only that, but Lin Fuxi also tried to take Tan Mo’s laptop away. It was clear that she was going to take the laptop to a computer repair store to have it open so that she could destroy the data in it.
Lin Fuxi herself said that she was going to change all the evidence that Tan Mo had collected so that Tan Mo would find the wrong person instead. Everyone who had watched the live stream heard that.
That way, Tan Mo would not suspect Lin Fuxi, who not have to get caught stealing and destroying Tan Mo’s laptop.
Unfortunately for Lin Fuxi, before she could even leave the room with Tan Mo’s laptop, she was caught.
Now, she was going to get accused of theft as well.
Even if Lin Fuxi had planned to return the laptop later, the act of sneaking Tan Mo’s laptop out of the room was already an act of theft.
The problem was that they didn’t know what Lin Fuxi would do with the laptop.
“You’ve gone way over the line this time, Lin Fuxi,” Mr. Ji said. “Not only did you try to frame your roommate, but you also tried to steal her laptop. According to the university’s rulebook, this warrants an expulsion. You’ll have to wait for our meeting to conclude before coming to a final decision for your punishment. Whether or not we will expel you, you’ll have to wait for the answer later.”
“That’s bullsh*t! I know you all will expel me!” Lin Fuxi finally dropped her act.
She finally showed her true color and yelled in such a piercing voice that the others had to cover their ears.
Lin Fuxi was already at the limit. She couldn’t hold her anger and anxiety in any longer to the point in which her face was twisted because of it.
It was as if she was going for a final heave and shouted, “Tan Mo is the face of this university! It’s natural that you guys will take this chance to appeal to her! There’s no way you won’t expel me! If Tan Mo was in my shoes this time, there’s no way you guys would expel her! You guys might even cover for her so that other people would never learn about it! In the end, you guys will expel me because I am of no use to this university! It’s easy to abandon someone like me.”
“But I wouldn’t harm other people like what you did. Even if I don’t like them, I will stop at that. I’ll never hurt them,” Tan Mo said. “There are no perfect people in this world. We are all bound to be hated and hate someone. So, are you just going to hurt all the people you don’t like?”
“Yeah, right! Aren’t you trying to hurt me now?” Lin Fuxi roared as she gritted her teeth.
“Do you still not realize your problem? You always think that everything that has happened to you is caused by someone else, that they are trying to hurt you. You think that life is unfair to you and God doesn’t love you.” Tan Mo sighed. “Everything is other people’s fault, and you are always the victim. You always think that you’ve done nothing wrong.”
