Chapter 422: No One to Look After His Little Lady
Her coworkers all thought she was being weird.
The actress said, “I’ll explain everything after this round is over. If you trust me, then leave them be. The other players should keep us busy enough.”
“Okay.” All her coworkers agreed to heed her advice.
“Uncle, no more actors are coming at us anymore. You can put me down now.” Even though Tan Mo felt she was rather light for her size…
Wei Zhiqian had been carrying her for quite some time. She was worried he might feel tired. She did not want him to start thinking that she had put on weight recently.
Being a fairy, there was no way she could be considered heavy.
“Are you sure?” Wei Zhiqian tilted his head toward Tan Mo’s ear. He seemed to have developed a liking for speaking beside her tender ears.
That was since he had made up his mind to change the status of his relationship with Tan Mo.
He wanted Tan Mo to stop being his god-niece and instead become his girlfriend, then his fiancée, and finally his wife.
Obviously, he had to do everything he could to seduce her.
If the girl did not get the hint, then he would have to keep flirting with her until she did.
He had to seize every opportunity there was.
As Wei Zhiqian spoke, his warm breath poured into her ear.
Tan Mo’s ear quivered violently.
His lips seemed to have accidentally brushed against her ear again.
It sent tingles down her ear.
Against her will, she instinctively burrowed her head toward his collarbone.
“I’ll be fine.” Tan Mo’s voice trembled involuntarily. “I can’t let you carry me all the way. I should at least experience parts of the game.”
Wei Zhiqian chuckled softly beside her ear. His laughter seemed to have a Dolby surround-sound effect around her ears. It sounded crisp and awfully seductive.
“Very well.” Wei Zhiqian nodded. His lips “seemingly” brushed past her hairline “accidentally” yet again.
His upper lip rubbed against her soft hair while his bottom lip gently grazed beneath those strands of hair, touching her forehead.
Finally, he placed Tan Mo back on her feet.
Never had the poor little snow fairy been put through such a quandary.
First, her ears were attacked, and then her neck.
Now, all she could feel on these two places of her body was the lingering sensation of Wei Zhiqian’s soft lips.
After Wei Zhiqian finally put her down, her legs felt wobbly.
Her knees gave out, and her petite body lost its stance.
Wei Zhiqian rushed to support her, his face leaning close to her once again.
A soft chuckle burst out from his throat. It sounded crisp and soothing like the chimes of jade stones tumbling through spring water. “Are you wobbly from all the scares?”
Tan Mo just wanted him to stop chuckling the way he did.
Tan Mo’s usually intelligent brain was now filled with goo.
She could not even remember if Wei Zhiqian used to laugh this way.
Perhaps she had only ever regarded Wei Zhiqian as her uncle, so she never felt anything listening to the way he laughed before.
Ever since she had that crazy dream last night, her feelings toward Wei Zhiqian seem to have changed.
It felt as if everything Wei Zhiqian did or say—even hearing his laughter—was affecting her.
Tan Mo answered him vaguely. It was not like she could tell Wei Zhiqian that her knees were wobbly because he was too seductive.
Wei Zhiqian circled his arm around Tan Mo’s waist. “Let me help you.”
“Okay.” Tan Mo felt extremely guilty, worried that Wei Zhiqian might see right through her.
Fearing that rejecting his help would make Wei Zhiqian suspicious of her, she decided to follow his lead.
The two of them had completely forgotten that Yu Xiaonan was lagging behind, all by herself.
Luckily, Yu Xiaonan saw the actress nodding to Wei Zhiqian when he warned her to stay away.
Now, she didn’t have to worry about those actors suddenly jumping out and scaring her.
She watched as Wei Zhiqian found the clues with ease, moving past stage after stage.
Within 15 minutes, he led the two of them out.
“Have my friends come out yet?” Yu Xiaonan asked the staff member as soon as she entered the lobby.
“No, three of you were the first to finish,” the staff member replied.
In other words, Fang Shuyang and the rest were still stuck inside.
“Let’s go then.” Tan Mo thought, ‘This escape room was no fun at all.’ She hardly experienced the excitement of the game.
She was merely a bystander throughout the entire process.
Zhou Jieyu was not even out yet, and Wei Zhiqian already wanted to leave.
Yu Xiaonan quickly tried to stop them, “Wei Qian! Wei Mo!”
When she saw them stopping, Yu Xiaonan whipped out her phone and said, “Let’s add each other on WeChat. You’re so good at this escape room, Wei Qian. We should play again next time. If we have enough people in a team, then we won’t have to wait to enter.”
“That’s not necessary,” Wei Zhiqian answered coldly. “I only came because Momo wanted to play.”
“After playing today, I feel like the escape room wasn’t all that exciting.” Tan Mo seemed unbothered by the fact that she barely racked her brains to get through the game.
There was no need for her to care about minor details like that anyway.
“I never played this before, so I was just curious to check it out. Now that I have, it has somehow lost its appeal.” Tan Mo was not going to let Yu Xiaonan have the opportunity of asking out Wei Zhiqian.
Qin Muye did say she really wanted to try the escape room. Maybe she could ask her to come and play together someday.
They probably would not choose such a horror theme next time.
“Uncle, let’s get going.” Tan Mo tugged Wei Zhiqian’s arm.
Wei Zhiqian nodded.
Yu Xiaonan was unwilling to let Wei Zhiqian go just like that.
She might never get to see him ever again.
It was rare to meet someone so charming.
After meeting Wei Zhiqian, she suddenly felt that the boys in her school were all so lame.
“Wei Qian, I…” Yu Xiaonan called out in a moment of desperation.
Wei Zhiqian surprisingly stopped. When he turned around and looked at her, he seemed utterly annoyed. His gaze was so chilling that it felt as if an ice-cold blade pierced right through her body.
Where was that tenderness he had shown Tan Mo earlier?
Not a single fragment of that same kindness was reserved for her.
“Seriously!” Wei Zhiqian spit out the word with exasperation and walked out with Tan Mo’s hand in his.
Yu Xiaonan was left standing in the lobby, looking pale and wallowing in sadness.
That man was so caring and thoughtful toward his niece.
Why was he so mean when it came to her?
He could not even spare her the slightest bit of patience.
After getting out of the escape room, Wei Zhiqian insisted on taking Tan Mo to the movies.
They then stopped for dinner in the mall at a restaurant that happened to be recently trending on the Internet.
The sky had turned dark when he finally took Tan Mo home.
Standing outside of Tan Mo’s house, Wei Zhiqian looked at the little lady, her petite face gazing back at him. He had a sudden urge to give her a goodnight kiss before ending their night together.
He fought hard to resist the temptation. Finally, he placed a hand on the top of Tan Mo’s head and gently patted her.
“How did you find the escape room? Was it fun?” Wei Zhiqian asked.
“It was alright, but I’m definitely never playing the horror theme again.” Just the thought of it made Tan Mo’s feet shiver.
“The usual ones should still be pretty fun. I’m planning to ask Muye along next time,” Tan Mo happily said.
Wei Zhiqian’s eyes drooped ever so slightly. With Qin Muye around, Ming Yeqing was bound to tag along.
“If you’re playing any of the typical themes, then sure,” Wei Zhiqian said. “You can’t play any of the horror themes. If you do, you have to make sure I’m there with you. Got it?”
Otherwise, Ming Yeqing would probably only look after Qin Muye, and there would be no one looking after his little lady.
