Chapter 368: Not Close-Minded

Just as it was about to get to the good part, Wei Zhiqian suddenly grabbed Tan Mo by her waist and picked her up off his lap and set her down next to him.
“Hey!” Tan Mo yelled, as she couldn’t cover the man’s eyes now.
Unexpectedly for her, Wei Zhiqian was self-conscious enough to close his eyes. When he stood up, he looked at the floor instead of looking forward.
“I promise I won’t look,” Wei Zhiqian said.
“Where are you going?” Tan Mo asked.
Wei Zhiqian didn’t even bother to answer her and ran toward the bathroom.
Stomachache, maybe? Tan Mo wondered.
At the same time, Qin Murong and Qin Muxiao had made up an excuse to walk Qin Muye back to the villa where she was staying with Tan Mo.
Even though Qin Muye did say she would be fine with Qin Mufeng around, the two cousins still insisted on walking her back.
This led Qin Muye to think that the cousins were just trying to act nice in front of Qin Mufeng to show that they really wanted to improve the relationship between them.
In the end, Qin Muye decided to let her cousins do what they wanted, believing that her brother wouldn’t buy their stories that easily.
As they returned to the villa, Qin Muye reached for her keycard in her pocket.
“Hey? Where’s my keycard?” Qin Muye asked after going through all of her pockets.
“Did you lose it? Or maybe you just dropped it somewhere?” Qin Muxiao said. “Your pockets are pretty shallow, so it might have dropped out.”
“How could you be so careless?” Qin Murong shook her head and acted like a worried big sister. “Isn’t Tan Mo in there? Why don’t you get her to open the door for you, and then we can ask the resort to get you a new one.”
Qin Muye nodded as that seemed like the only solution.
However, she still frowned as she had no idea how she had lost her keycard.
Just as she was about to press the doorbell, Qin Mufeng suddenly said, “There’s no need for that. I have your card here.”
“Eh? Brother! Why do you have it?” Qin Muye exclaimed with wide eyes as she saw her keycard in her brother’s hand.
Both Qin Murong and Qin Muxiao’s eyes were wide as well. But, unlike Qin Muye, who was surprised, they were shocked to see the keycard.
Qin Murong was sure that Qin Muye’s keycard had been stolen when she wasn’t paying attention and handed to the person who would then give it to Wei Keli. She was the one who had done that.
She couldn’t even comprehend how Qin Mufeng had the keycard now.
Wait! Don’t tell me Mufeng knows about our plan? Or maybe it’s another card? Qin Murong thought to herself.
“You dropped your card, and I found it on the floor,” Qin Mufeng explained. “You’ve always been a careless girl, so I kept it for you.”
Qin Murong could tell something was off.
It was impossible for the card to have been on the floor.
Her expression immediately changed once she realized that their plans must have gone awry. The only way that Qin Mufeng could have gotten his hand on the keycard was if he took it from the person who was supposed to give it to Wei Keli.
Qin Murong looked at Qin Mufeng anxiously as it seemed like he had known about the plan all along. Yet, after studying his face for a while, it didn’t seem like he knew.
The more important thing that the mastermind had to worry about now was what had happened to Wei Keli. If he didn’t have the keycard, then what had happened to their plan. She still hoped that Wei Keli had managed to get into the villa.
Naturally, Qin Muye had no idea about the plan and opened the door.
“Mo Mo! I’m back!” Qin Muye announced happily as soon as she entered the villa.
Hearing her best friend’s voice, Tan Mo quickly turned the TV off.
She turned to look at the doorway and saw Qin Muye coming in with her brother and cousins.
Qin Murong looked around and realized that Tan Mo was the only one in the living room.
She turned to look at Qin Muxiao, and the latter could only shake her head.
What troubled them the most was that Tan Mo was still wearing the same clothes as she had been wearing before.
What’s going on? Is Wei Keli not here? Qin Murong became even more anxious.
“Muye! That took a long time. What did they give you?” Tan Mo asked curiously.
Before Qin Muye could even reply, Qin Muxiao interrupted them. “Tan Mo, have you been here alone all this time?”
“Ah…” Now that she had learned about Qin Murong and Qin Muxiao’s plan, Tan Mo decided to put on a little show for them.
Seeing that Tan Mo didn’t answer the question, the sisters turned to look at each other, thinking that their plan had worked.
“Were you here alone or not? It’s not even a hard question.” Qin Muxiao pressured Tan Mo as she believed Wei Keli must have succeeded. “Don’t tell me you’re hiding someone here.”
Qin Muxiao peeked into the living room but still couldn’t find anyone else hiding there.
Just as Tan Mo was continuing with her act, Wei Zhiqian came out of the bathroom and smiled at the sisters. “Who else do you two think is here?”
His lips were smiling, but his eyes weren’t. Instead, they were staring at the sisters coldly.
Qin Murong and Qin Muxiao immediately felt a chill running down their spines.
“Zhiqian? Why are you…” Qin Murong’s mouth had dropped down to her chin.
She couldn’t understand why Wei Zhiqian was in the room with Tan Mo instead of Wei Keli. If the uncle was here, there was no way the nephew could ever get close to Tan Mo.
“What the h*ll is wrong with your family?” Wei Zhiqian turned to his best friend and scolded him. “Didn’t I tell her that we aren’t close enough for her to address me by my first name? It sounds like we’re on friendly terms when we are not. Does your family have no shame?”
Now, Qin Murong’s lips were already twitching as she tried to force a smile.
“Don’t look at me. I didn’t teach her. The only family I have is my parents and my little sister here,” Qin Mufeng quickly denied the fact that they were closely related.
“So, Muxiao, to answer your question, I’ve been with Uncle the whole time,” Tan Mo replied while blinking innocently. “Who else did you think I was with?”
As Qin Muxiao was about to respond, the doorbell rang.
This time, Tan Mo went to open the door while Wei Zhiqian followed behind her to make sure nothing would happen to her.
When she opened the door, they realized it was Wei Zhiqian’s man standing outside.
“Sir! You have to come! Young Master Keli, he’s…” the man reported.
“What’s wrong with him?” Wei Zhiqian frowned.
“H…he’s in a hot spring with an n…naked girl! I think she’s Ms. Tan Mo’s cousin,” the man replied.
“So? They are adults now. They can do whatever they want. What’s there to be surprised about?” Wei Zhiqian scolded. “Heck, even if they are having sex now, I couldn’t care less. It’s their decision.”
Tan Mo turned to look at Wei Zhiqian, completely surprised. “Wow! I always thought Uncle was a close-minded person!”
“You’re an exception!” Wei Zhiqian glared at Tan Mo and gently flicked her forehead before turning back to address his man. “Tell everyone that they’re adults now, and they are free to do whatever they want. I couldn’t care less. Neither does the Wei family. Well, it’s another story what my brother and sister-in-law would do. As for me, that’s their problem, not mine.”
With that, Wei Zhiqian had just confirmed that Wei Keli and Yuan Keqing were dating. He had completely turned Qin Murong’s plan around and used it for his own benefit.
If Wei Keli were to try and date Tan Mo after what had happened, people would think that he was cheating on Yuan Keqing.
He would be an embarrassment, and the public would call him out for trying to date another girl after spending a steamy night with his girlfriend.
“What? Since when was Yuan Keqing on the guest list?” Qin Murong asked.
“I invited her,” Qin Mufeng said. When he noticed Qin Murong’s suspicious expression, he added, “She’s Tan Mo’s cousin, so I invited her to join us.”
“But where was she during the afternoon party? She wasn’t there!” Qin Murong argued.
