Chapter 421: Nobody Touches My Uncle!

Wei Zhiqian was surprised.
After she pushed away Yu Xiaonan, Tan Mo turned her head back and continued to hide her face in Wei Zhiqian’s embrace. She bellowed, “Nobody touches my uncle!”
Wei Zhiqian chuckled softly.
She was quite the possessive little lady.
But he liked how she was so possessive of him.
“Uncle, you can’t push her.” Tan Mo wrapped her fingers around Wei Zhiqian’s neck and rested her forehead on his collarbone. She said to Wei Zhiqian, “If you push her, then you’d have to touch her. And you’re not allowed to touch her.”
“Yes, milady,” Wei Zhiqian promised her between his lighthearted chuckles.
“Besides, you’d end up being accused by her,” Tan Mo said. “Regardless, you’re still a man. If you tried pushing her, she could easily use her gender advantage as a woman against you.”
No matter how she saw it, Wei Zhiqian was better off not laying a finger on Yu Xiaonan.
Of course, the main reason was that she did not want Wei Zhiqian to have any physical contact with Yu Xiaonan.
“So, just let me be the bad guy.” Tan Mo wrapped her arms around Wei Zhiqian. Despite the frantic screams going off around her, she did not feel the slightest bit nervous.
She knew Wei Zhiqian would never let those heart-stopping actors get anywhere near her.
And that was the truth.
The actress who had terrorized Zhou Jieyu finally let go of her ankle and got up from the ground.
Everyone scrambled off in different directions.
Liu Yuehao grabbed Shi Zhixia’s hand and fled aimlessly.
Fang Shuyang, who was the team captain, abandoned his teammates and had long escaped with Xin Kaiqi.
Zhou Jieyu saw Yu Xiaonan beside Wei Zhiqian and thought she should be fine.
She did not want to be left alone either, so she quickly chased after Fang Shuyang.
The actress did not go after the rest of them. Seeing Wei Zhiqian standing there, she began to drag her oversized heels.
Click.
Clack.
She was getting closer to Wei Zhiqian.
“Aaaah!” The terrified Yu Xiaonan ran behind Wei Zhiqian.
Right then, Tan Mo opened her eyes. She looked straight at Yu Xiaonan, who was standing right behind Wei Zhiqian, and warned, “Don’t you dare touch my uncle!”
Yu Xiaonan was extremely annoyed.
This girl was just his niece. What right did she have to lay her claws all over this man?
Yu Xiaonan could not care less about her threats. What could Tan Mo possibly do if she were to grab Wei Zhiqian’s shirt from behind?
Forget that. She was going to lean her entire body against his back.
Meanwhile, the actress had walked up to Wei Zhiqian.
Wei Zhiqian glared at her. Without even uttering a single word, the actress was completely frightened by him. She did not take a single step forward.
Not only did she not move forward, but she also took a few steps back stiffly.
Cold sweat began to trickle down her back.
This look in the man’s eyes was unbelievably horrifying.
He hadn’t lifted a finger against her, but would this count as intimidating an actor?
Wei Zhiqian turned around and coldly said to Yu Xiaonan, “If you lay a finger on me, I’ll leave you here alone with the scare actress.”
Yu Xiaonan’s eyes widened.
How did Wei Zhiqian know?
Yu Xiaonan stood frozen in place.
Tan Mo tried to raise her head, but Wei Zhiqian held her down. He tilted his head and whispered in her ear, “Don’t look up.”
The actress was right beside. He was worried Tan Mo would be frightened if she raised her head and saw her.
However, he could not tell her for fear that she might panic once she knew.
Wei Zhiqian was overthinking.
His lips were merely inches away from Tan Mo’s ear.
On top of that, they were in an almost pitch-black room. His perception of distance was hardly accurate in the dark.
Unintentionally, his lips touched Tan Mo’s ear.
His lips suddenly grazed the back of her ear and then gently rubbed past her earlobe.
With the heat of his breath spread across her ear…
Involuntarily, Tan Mo’s ear trembled twice. The part of her ear turned red where his tender lips had touched. It was burning up like it had caught fire.
The numbing sensation traveled from the back of her ear all the way down her neck.
Instead of raising her head, Tan Mo burrowed deeper against Wei Zhiqian’s collarbone.
The tip of her ears pointed out through her long hair like an elf.
Wei Zhiqian gently caressed Tan Mo’s cheek. “It’s okay, I’m here.”
Wei Zhiqian turned his head and said to the actress, who was plastered against the wall looking frail and helpless, “Tell your co-workers not to come near us. Don’t you dare frighten my little lady. There are so many of us around. They should be plenty enough for you to do your job.”
The actress did not let out a single squeak. Seeming to have lost her edge to scare, she looked awfully pitiful and feeble as she cowered against the wall.
She had encountered customers who would assault the scare actors due to their reflex of being frightened.
She had never met a customer who was completely unperturbed and instead tried to threaten a scare actor.
The stern look in that man’s eyes sent shivers down her spine.
When he warned her with those unfeeling eyes, the actress was terrified to her bones.
Cold sweat formed on her back. She could not even lift her feet.
Her feet felt nailed to the ground. It was as if they no were no longer part of her body.
Her mind went blank. She could barely think, let alone move or control her body.
Hearing Wei Zhiqian’s warning, the actress nodded her head obediently.
The manager was looking through the surveillance cameras to make sure there were no accidents on-site. If there were, the participants could then get immediate help.
At that moment, he saw an actress so frightened by a customer that she looked like an obedient elementary school kid.
Whatever the customer said, the actress listened attentively. She was being unbelievably subservient.
She was supposed to be scaring the customers. Why was she listening to them?
With Tan Mo in his arms, Wei Zhiqian walked forward. Yu Xiaonan hurriedly caught up.
She was not going to touch Wei Zhiqian anymore, but she certainly did not dare stay behind all by herself.
Seeing as how the actress was frightened of Wei Zhiqian, she quickly followed him.
As long as Yu Xiaonan was not going to touch Wei Zhiqian, Tan Mo was unbothered by her presence.
After all, once the game ended, Yu Xiaonan would never get the chance to see Wei Zhiqian again.
After they walked off, the manager questioned the actress through her ear earpiece, “What were you doing? Why were you so frightened by a customer?”
The actress answered reluctantly, “You weren’t here. Why don’t you come in here and try scaring that man? He’s even scarier than our actors! His glare almost gave me a heart attack! I literally had cold sweat on my back, and I’m not exaggerating.”
The manager replied, “Seriously? What if they go out and start telling people that our actors are the ones getting the scare from the customers? Do you know what that will do to our reputation?”
“Who cares? There’s no way I’m going after that man! He made a good point anyway. All the players are scattered now, so I’ll just go scare someone else,” the actress retorted.
The manager was left speechless.
Without special reasons, the manager was not allowed to come in anyway.
The actress decided to ignore him. If he wanted to criticize her on her performance later, he could for all she cared.
After all, not everyone would willingly take up this job.
Imagine giving yourself a heart attack each time you saw yourself in the mirror. Who would want to work under such pressure of being in a terrifying environment every single day?
Typical people would probably end up with psychological issues.
Therefore, getting fired over that little hiccup was the least of her concerns.
Besides, she worked hard at her job.
Dragging on her ill-fitted heels, the actress continued walking in the opposite direction of Wei Zhiqian.
At the same time, she notified her co-workers through her earpiece.
She told them not to scare Wei Zhiqian and Tan Mo and instead go after the rest of them.
