Chapter 391 - There was a lot to be uncovered here. (4)
Commander Xiao arrived at the Beihe Train Station at midnight.
He had informed his nephew to come pick him up ahead of time.
Xiao Yanghua and his son Xiao Weiguo both let out a sigh of relief when they saw Commander Xiao exiting the train.
They were startled when they received the call from Commander Xiao informing them that he would be coming.
They were even more worried when they learned that he was taking the train that would be arriving at midnight. They worried that something serious must have happened.
Xiao Yanghua, “Uncle, we’ve borrowed a car from the unit and it is waiting outside right now. Let’s hurry on over.”
Commander Xiao nodded, “Thank you for coming.”
Xiao Yanghua, “It’s our duty. But, why are you here so urgently, Uncle. Did something happen in the troop?”
Commander Xiao shook his head. “No, I was here for personal matters.”
Xiao Yanghua and his son exchanged a look when they heard that.
Commander Xiao, “I received a call a couple of days ago telling me that I have a son in Beihe. The purpose of my trip is to locate him.”
BOOM!
Xiao Yanghua and his son were stunned by his words.
Commander Xiao had been singled his entire life. Where did this son of his come from?
Commander Xiao did not look tired at all despite being on the train for the past 2 days. “It’s kind of a long story. I will fill you in some time. I will, however, need your help to look into something for me.”
He wanted to find his son, yes. But he was not an idiot either and he would not just believe in anything told to him by just anyone.
When he visited the Tong’s back in the days, Menzhi’s sister-in-law definitely told him that she had re-married. How that turned into her getting pregnant out of the wedlock and died during childbirth?
There was a lot that he needed to look into here!
***
Tong Jiaming woke up because he needed to go pee.
He sat up and was perplexed by the white bedsheets.
He finally recalled that he was in the hospital when he saw Tong Xuelu curled up in a chair, asleep.
It was his Big Sister who brought him to the hospital in the biting cold and it was her who had been taking care of him by his side.
And now, she was sleeping on a cold chair just to be frugal.
Tong Jiaming’s eyes tingled when he thought about that.
Tong Xuelu opened up her eyes when she heard stirring and happened to look into Tong Jiaming’s red bunny-like eyes. She was startled, “Are you feeling ill again? Let me go and get the doctor.”
Tong Jiaming quickly said, “I’m alright. I just want to use the bathroom.”
His eyes turned red from wanting to go to the bathroom?
Tong Xuelu was baffled. “Then hurry up and go. Do you need help getting there?”
“No, I got this.” Tong Jiaming looked at her with his eyes beet red. “Thank you, Big Sister!”
He would repay his Big Sister when he was grown up.
Truth was, he had never truly accepted his big sister before today deep inside him. It was today when he finally realized how much she had done for this family.
Tong Xuelu waved her hands. “Don’t mention it. Just hurry up and go.”
Tong Jiaming nodded and walked out.
Tong Xuelu stood up and stretched out her back and legs.
It was uncomfortable to sleep on the chair but the sheets at the hospital didn’t look very clean. She was germophobic and would rather sleep on the chair.
Never mind. She should head to the bathroom as well. She wouldn’t want her eyes to be red like Tong Jiaming’s from holding back her pee.
Tong Jiaming’s fever was gone entirely by day light.
Except that his body and face were covered in chicken pox. He even had folliculitis on his head. All in all, a handsome body was “ruined” just like that.
Looking at the chicken pox on him, they almost triggered her Trypophobia. “The doctor said you can be discharged. But this is a highly contagious disease so you will need to quarantine yourself in your room after we have gone back. You particularly must avoid contact with Jiaxin and Mianmian.
She would not be able to take care of them all should Tong Jiaxin and Tong Mianmian were to get sick as well.
Besides, Tong Jiaxin and Tong Mianmian were not as mature as Tong Jiaming. They would for certain scratch and break their chickenpox and then they would both be pockmarked then.
Tong Xuelu, “In addition, you cannot scratch your chickenpox before you heal. If they break, you will scar and your face will be pockmarked.”
Tong Jiaming was already uncomfortably itchy by now but he nodded docilely anyway. “Okay. I won’t do that.”
Tong Xuelu went to take care of the bill, got some medications from the doctor, and brought Tong Jiaming home with her.
