The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories in the ’70s Chapter 356

Chapter 356 - "You are right about that. My grandson is amazing!" (1)
Tong Xuelu returned to the restaurant from the school and didn’t go home until it was dark outside.
The air was tense and dull at home. Tong Jiaxin, in particular, has been restless since he had gotten back from school.
“Second Brother, can you put in good words for me with Big Sister if she beat me?”
Tong Jiaming frowned, “Why did you cheat?”
Tong Jiaxin scratched his head. “I didn’t want to, but I just don’t get the material. I worry that if I don’t do well, I won’t get any meat!”
Tong Jiaming gave him a disapproving stare.
Tong Mianmian, next to them, had no idea what cheating meant. But, seeing that her Second Brother was staring at her Third Brother, she, too, gave him a stare. “Bad Third Brother. You are not a nice kid like Mianmian!”
Tong Jiaxin was in no mood to bicker with his sister. There was too much on his mind.
Right when he was pondering whether he should go and take a cold water bath and get himself sick, Tong Xuelu walked in.
Tong Jiaxin was too scared to even breathe deeply.
Tong Xuelu did not look at him. She asked Tong Jiaming, “Have you have dinner yet?”
Tong Jiaming nodded, “Yes, we all did.”
Tong Mianmian ran over to give her Big Sister a hug. “Big Sister, Mianmian ate an entire bowl of rice tonight!”
Tong Xuelu rubbed her head. “Mianmian good girl.”
The little bun stuck her chest out proudly.
Mooncake, lying on the ground, saw that and it, too, thrusted its chest out. It couldn’t be more dramatic.
Seeing that his Big Sister was ignoring him, Tong Jiaxin felt bummed out. He walked over with his head hanging. “I was wrong, Big Sister. I should not have cheated on my examination.”
Tong Xuelu gave him a cold look. “What’s your plan now?”
Tong Jiaxin scratched his head. “I won’t cheat again.”
Tong Xuelu, “What about your score? Are you going to start studying hard?”
Tong Jiaxin’s tongue might as well have been eaten. He turned mute all of a sudden.
Tong Xuelu remained silent for a little while and said to him, “You have two choices. One, you will be a good student from now on and get your grades up. You will not cheat or cause troubles in class again and I will not be invited by your teacher to the school again for a lecture.
“Two, if you don’t want to study, you can stop going to school.”
Both Tong Jiaming and Tong Jiaxin were taken aback by that.
The former was stunned and the latter excited.
Tong Jiaxin’s eyes widened. “Do you mean that, Big Sister? I really don’t have to go to school anymore?”
Tong Xuelu nodded. “If that’s what you want. Nevertheless, if you aren’t going to go to school anymore, then you will have to take over all of the housework.”
Tong Jiaxin thought about it some with his brows furrowed.
Doing housework was a hassle but the thought of not having to go to school make housework seemed like a walk in the park.
He nodded affirmatively. “Okay, I’ll do the housework, as long as you don’t make me go to school!”
Tong Xuelu curved her lips and smiled, “Alright. You can start staying home tomorrow. Jiaming, go and tell your teacher at school tomorrow that Jiaxin will be dropping out.”
Tong Jiaxin leaped three feet into the air. “A’right! I don’t need to go to school anymore!”
Tong Jiaming’s brows furrowed and his lips pinched shut. He finally nodded.
Everybody did homework and bathed after dinner. Tong Jiaxin, as he had already dropped out of school, no longer needed to do his homework. He was happy like it was new year.
After both Tong Jiaxin and Tong Mianmian had gone to bed, Tong Xuelu went over to talk to Tong Jiaming who was waiting for her in the living room. “When you go to school tomorrow, tell them that Jiaxin is not well and needs to take two weeks off.”
Tong Jiaming was a little surprised by that, “Time off? Not dropping out?”
Tong Xuelu nodded, “Just tell me what I’ve told you. I’ll have him begging to go back to school.”
Tong Jiaxin do not doubt is Big Sister. Whatever little worried that he had was gone. “Okay.”
