The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories in the ’70s Chapter 326

Chapter 326 - Su Yushen's eyes deepened more. (1)
Tong Xuelu brought her notebook with her when she went to visit Master Wu and Manager Zhou at the market.
Master Wu took the interview very seriously. He had always dressed sloppily and didn’t care that there was pig blood on his clothes.
Today, however, he put on his set of clothes that was usually reserved for the New Year’s time only and his hair was slick. He headed over early to the CSMC to wait for Tong Xuelu.
When Tong Xuelu arrived, he was not his usual haughty self. He brought Tong Xuelu a glass of water in person and offered her snacks that he had brought with her.
He could have fawned over her more.
Master Wu straightened up his clothes nervously. “Manager Tong, do I look okay?”
Tong Xuelu almost busted out laughing. “Master Wu almost looks as dressed up as a groom. We don’t have much time. Why don’t we get started with the interview.”
The word interviewimmediately put a solemn look on Master Wu.
Tong Xuelu asked a few questions that she came up with ahead of time. Truth was, she didn’t even need to ask any questions at all. As soon as Master Wu got started, he never stopped.
He started with how he gotten into the field, his training, and how he made it through rounds of selections to finally become the master at the CSMS. His stories were sorrowful and also full of inspiration.
They could make an audience cry.
Master Wu’s stories were so emotional that his eyes were red. Tong Xuelu, for the sake of showing respect, also made her eyes teary.
Master Wu finally finished with his presentation after two hours.
Tong Xuelu closed her notebook and said to him, “Okay, that should be good for now. I’ll organize the materials when I got back and post them at our restaurant.”
Master Wu was not quite done yet. “Are you sure you have enough materials? Would you like some more from me?”
Tong Xuelu shook her head. “I have enough. I will for sure come back if I have any questions later.”
Master Wu looked disappointed. “Oh, alright. Definitely come back and ask me should you have any questions, Manager Tong!”
Tong Xuelu nodded and stood up, bringing with her a slab of pork that was a gift to her from Master Wu.
She went over to the vegetable stall for her next interview.
When she got home, she organized the information that she had collected into essays. She wanted to make sure that they were real tear-jerkers.
She went and bought some rice papers at the stationary shop and a piece of red cloth from the department store.
She then had Tong Jiaming copywrite her essays onto the rice paper. Tong Jiaming’s writing was prettier than hers. It was better to let him take care of that.
In addition to Fang Jingyuan, Pu Jianyi, too, brought his colleagues from the police station with him to the restaurant the next day.
Shen Wanrong brought the children with her to the restaurant the day after that. Jiang Danhung went again.
Everybody raved about the malatang.
The bystanders watched as more and more patrons visited the restaurant. All of them left rubbing their stomach and none of them had gotten sick. They began to let their guards down.
On the next couple of days that followed, they had a few other patrons. All of them there to try out the malatang.
But the real change took place after Tong Xuelu had turned the interviews into notices and posted them inside the restaurant.
She pulled a red banner inside the restaurant with a piece of white piece of paper with the words “Achievement Board” written over it.
Below it was the two pieces of rice papers filled with the stories of achievements. Patrons would be able to spot them the second they stepped foot inside the restaurant.
“Achievement Board? What is that?”
“Isn’t that Master Wu from the CSMC? How did he make it into the Achievement Board?”
“There’s also Manager Zhou from the vegetable stall. He is neighbor of my cousin’s cousin. I know him quite well. He made it onto the Achievement Board as well?”
“What is the purpose of this Achievement Board?”
Someone finally mustered up the courage to ask the servers. Meng Qingqing and Guo Chunyu repeated what Tong Xuelu had told them to say.
“It’s the Achievement Board. Naturally, only the most outstanding and modern talents could make their way on there. Take Master Wu from the CSMC and Manager Zhou from the vegetable market for example. They are both very modernized workers.
“They had given up so much for socialism and our country. They have set good examples for all of us. As such, we had turned their stories onto essay and posted them here after our interviews with them. We want their stories to be able to inspire more people!”
