Chapter 6106: Most Interesting Aspect
“Finally, the two powers merged for another attack on the group.” The temple lord said.
“So two different parties attempted to kill them. Both were a part of the group” Six-style took a deep breath.
“In other words, two traitorous progenitors.” Li Qiye said.
She thought Old Strike Pact was an utter failure - a trap against the ancient progenitors masked as an attempt to kill Dingtian.
There should have been a dozen progenitors or so, two among them being traitors. This was rather unexpected.
“These progenitors were the best among the best, especially Gao Yang and Xian Baihui. Some participated in expeditions before and stood at the top of Three Immortals. This battle ended them all.” The temple lord sighed.
“And then?” She couldn’t help wanting to know more.
“After the destruction of the progenitors, the second power initiated an attack on the first, injuring the opponent. The former had no choice but to escape but since I didn’t watch in person, I speculated that it was a near-death situation.” He said.
“I wonder who they were.” She murmured.
After the battle, the ancient progenitors stopped appearing. Those aware of their plan assumed they had fallen to Dingtian. The truth was far from it - they fell to their allies.
“What about the weapon?” Li Qiye asked.
“It was still there. The first power tried to seize it using the laws of the market but after the backstab, the person fled and couldn’t take it.” He said.
“The second power was the one who swept the battlefield clean and took the weapon.” She speculated.
“No, a third came before the second could search for the weapon, also extremely powerful.” He said.
“You didn’t know who?” She asked.
“I became a ghost long ago and didn’t recognize this person. Although Gao Yang’s weapon was frightening, this person’s saber was truly monstrous.” He finished while glancing at Li Qiye.
“Indeed.” LI Qiye agreed.
“All of its might was still sheathed in the scabbard, but since I am a weapon expert, I sensed that it was the strongest saber in the world.” He continued.
“Desolate Ancestor and her saber, that must be who it was! She is known for being unbeatable with it.” She blurted.
“I can’t dispute that.” He said: “The second power recognized her arrival and instantly fled. Nothing was left on the battlefield then.”
“Did she come to help the ancient progenitors?” She wondered.
“Perhaps pursuing someone.” Li Qiye said.
“The traitors?” She thought this was rather likely.
“What was the reason for this plan? To kill Gao Yang’s group and pave the way?” Li Qiye said: “Or they were close to being exposed.”
“The dead cannot be investigated. That would explain Desolate Ancestor’s appearance.” She understood Li Qiye’s point.
“A dozen suspects in the beginning. Couldn’t investigate more with them dead.” Li Qiye chuckled.
“I see two plans, one was killing the progenitors while the other was an attempt to remain hidden.” She said.
“The second power is the smartest, taking advantage of the circumstances and eliminating everyone before going into hiding.” Li Qiye said.
“I wonder why all this secrecy is necessary.” She said.
“That’s the most interesting aspect, it must have been an earth-shattering matter requiring secrecy.” Li Qiye said.
“If Desolate Ancestor was involved, perhaps it pertained to Life and Death Heaven.” She said.
“No one among the ancient progenitors was on this level.” Li Qiye smirked: “Only the three immortals.”
“Yes, Progenitor. When not counting yourself, only the three immortals were on this level. Later on, a supreme terror came but was killed. I suppose the six Redemption Grounds should be included too.” He said.
“The six Redemption Grounds can’t hide or trick each other.” Li Qiye shook his head.
“Hmm, who else was this strong after the fall of the three immortals?” He wondered.
“So a power of the immortal level.” She said softly.
“How amusing, so early too.” Li Qiye said.
“So you know where it came from, Progenitor?” He asked.
“It didn’t originate from cultivation.” Li Qiye said.
“Not from cultivation?” She found this surprising.
“Yes, and I don’t know how the three immortals were blind to this.” Li Qiye said with a serious expression.
“So in the end, the two survivors were the traitors.” She said emotionally.
Gao Yang’s group was the most brilliant, decorated with countless exploits in Three Immortals. They most likely didn’t expect to face this pitiful outcome - dying in an unknown location with no tales left behind.
“Wait, there should have been one survivor.” He said.
“Another?” She became excited.
