Chapter 6022: Wake Up
“That’s due to your lack of knowledge and ignorance.” Li Qiye responded.
Allmountain’s expression darkened because, despite his patient nature, this was beyond pushing it.
Others from Immortal Suppression thought the mortal was suicidal for disrespecting their emperor.
“Hahaha, do you know who you’re speaking to?” Serpent-winged burst out in laughter.
He came from Sky Tree, a tributary of Immortal Suppression. Therefore, he had to stand up for Allmountain Emperor.
“No, just an unknown junior.” Li Qiye said.
“You!” Serpent-winged turned red from anger.
“Brat, you deserve death!” Those from Sky Tree bellowed but Li Qiye paid them no mind.
“Unbelievable.” Serpent-winged had an angry smile as he said: “Fine, I want to see just what kind of hidden master you are.”
“A few words are enough to drive you angry enough to kill?” Li Qiye glanced at him.
Serpent-winged trembled with rage, not knowing what to do. Killing Li Qiye would make him appear petty to everyone else.
“No need for that.” Allmountain waved and said: “If your claim is true, then enlighten and shut everyone up by crossing the domain.”
“Why should I bother to prove it?” Li Qiye smiled.
Allmountain glared at Li Qiye. The mortal seemed to be immune to his pressure so in theory, he was a hidden master. However, there should be some obvious signs of this.
“We’ll make it interesting and bet on it.” Serpent-winged said.
“A little serpent such as yourself has nothing worth betting, your tiny brains aren’t worth a few coins, I’m not interested.” Li Qiye said.
“...” Serpent-winged nearly vomited blood and clenched his fists, telling himself to maintain the bearing of a desolate god.
“Do you know how you’re going to die?” He endured his anger but still let out a threat.
“No, at least not here.” Li Qiye shrugged.
“You definitely won’t die here if you can cross the domain. I can’t be sure otherwise.” Omni interjected while shaking his head.
“Looks like all of you wish to watch.” Li Qiye smirked.
“Of course, if a mortal such as yourself can reach the immortal palace, you will become the greatest mortal in existence. Emperors pale in your presence.” Allmountain admitted.
“Oh? I like that, the greatest mortal, definitely cooler than the greatest ancestor, greatest emperor, greatest devil or whatever. Fine, I will spare you once.” Li Qiye said.
“The bastard…” Those from Immortal Suppression had flames in their eyes, wanting to cut this mortal down to pieces.
“Spare me?” Allmountain found this hilarious: “Hahaha, very well, I will keep this in mind, I look forward to it too.”
Allmountain had shown patience time and time again when talking to a mortal. Few could do the same.
“Go for it.” Omni didn’t believe in miracles.
“I suppose I should do you all a favor and show you, it’s too humiliating for emperors to know so little.” Li Qiye shook his head.
The crowd and the emperors especially had never endured such blatant contempt before.
“We’ll cut you down if you can’t cross it.” Someone thought he was courting death.
“Brat, come and broaden your horizon. Try your best to feel it.” Li Qiye smiled and patted Sky Step King’s shoulder.
The guy’s legs started trembling. Although he was a disciple of a Grand Emperor, his master only had four fruits and couldn’t compare to someone such as Allmountain. Omni alone was frightening enough.
Nevertheless, Li Qiye’s presence emboldened him so he took a deep breath and followed Li Qiye.
Everyone was surprised to see the arrogant mortal actually attempting to cross the domain.
“He’ll die after one step.” An ancestor from Sky Tree sneered.
“I’m just glad this will end soon so we don’t have to listen to the fool any longer.” Another expert said.
Meanwhile, Sky Step didn’t know whether he would survive this - to try something Allmountain didn’t dare to do. Alas, Li Qiye walking ahead granted him confidence.
Allmountain and Omni watched attentively, wanting to see if the brat had some special ability. Why would he want someone else to tag along?
“Sigh, a broken road with so much fog, how troublesome.” Li Qiye shook his head after reaching the entrance and said: “Okay, wake up, light the way.”
With that, he patted the statue carried by Sky Step King. The eye opened again and illuminated the path before them.
It felt as if one were lost in the darkness and suddenly, a beam of light shone on the road ahead and allowed them to see everything.
Li Qiye walked leisurely across the illuminated path as if this was a garden. Sky Step followed right behind him and heaved a sigh of relief after seeing a lack of danger.
He thought monsters would rise again but now, the eye only served as a lantern of sorts.
“Don’t waste time looking around. Feel it with your heart, it’s a rare opportunity.” Li Qiye advised.
Sky Step obeyed and took a deep breath, closing his eyes. In the next moment, he found himself being inside an immortal palace of unimaginable size. He was smaller than a speck of dust in comparison.
