Chapter 5962: Divine Guardian
“Boom!” The activated scripture’s characters flowed toward the Bi’an’s forehead, entering its brain.
“Raa!” The divine beast’s roar nearly flipped the two halves of the mountain over.
Disciples trembled before its power - one capable of reducing them to blood if left unchecked. However, Li Qiye saved them by raising his palm and containing the shockwaves.
He then channeled all remnant powers back to the Bi’an. Meanwhile, the characters within its brain continued to evolve.
“Clank!” On the outside, Li Qiye flicked his fingers and changed the laws of the scripture into divine chains of immense thickness. He threw them into the chasms like spears.
“Rumble!” Members of Resting Bull felt the earth being penetrated repeatedly.
The chains traveled deeper into the earth veins below, eventually reaching the dao source and connecting with it.
After the successful connection, they lit up and channeled worldly essences and dao powers back to the Bi’an.
“Buzz.” The divine beast glowed faintly. As it opened its eyes again, they weren’t murky like before and ignited with celestial brilliance.
It had regained some of its vitality. It had lived for a long time and was on the brink of death. However, Li Qiye used the scripture to bridge the beast and the world, extending its life.
Members of the sect felt their dao and merit laws activating. Dao laws coiled around them as if a seal had just been imprinted. They gained a mighty bestial aura, granting them immense strength.
“Raa!” They felt the presence of a divine beast within, always capable of helping them when necessary.
As they stood there in a daze, the two sides of the mountain came together and the beast disappeared along with the statue at the top.
“Now the divine beast is one with the dao source and all of you, sharing both joy and sadness.” Li Qiye looked down at the sect.
Since the Bi’an connected with the dao source below, those training with the same dao were connected with the beast as well.
The young ones didn’t fully grasp the situation while Edge Mountain Crone had nothing but gratitude for Li Qiye. This act of his stopped their declination and bolstered their foundation, allowing them to rise again. This was an impossible feat for anyone, but not Li Qiye.
He bestowed them a blessing for generations to come. The weight of this favor couldn’t be measured.
“Let’s go.” Li Qiye smiled and told the daoist. The two descended from the mountain.
“Stay in the sect and meditate, do not leave.” Edge Mountain Crone calmed down and ordered her sect members before following the duo.

The ox cart had two drivers now - Incense Daoist and Edge Mountain Crone. The other passenger seemed to be sleeping in the back.
Insane Gate was not far from Resting Bull Mountain so this trip didn’t take long. It resembled an ancient city with numerous pavilions and palaces.
It was more of a town relative to Splendor City, but few cities were on the same level. It had more than ten thousand inhabitants and was still one of the strongest sects in the ancient alliance.
“Insane Gate.” Li Qiye shook his head while standing at the gate.
He recalled Insane Court in the past and lamented its current state. Insane Court had boundless territories back then. Its imperial city alone was far larger than this entire sect - a difference between heaven and earth.
A colossal statue beyond the gate greeted visitors. It stood tall enough that it could be seen from any street within Insane Gate.
It depicted an old man whose features couldn’t be discerned clearly due to the weathering of time. Nevertheless, one could still sense the indomitable spirit and timeless strength of this figure.
He raised a blade firmly with both hands, exuding an aura of defiance against the heaven. The statue and the sect seemed to be one. As long as it stood unwavering, so would Insane Gate.
The grand momentum of the sect was connected with the statue, making it seem like a guardian deity.
“It’s been a long time.” Li Qiye said sentimentally.
“Young Noble, this is Insane Gate’s guardian deity.” Edge Mountain Crone said: “He was known as Supreme Sword God.”
