Chapter 5936: Sinners Will Always Be Sinners
“Demon Moon Saber Saint?!” Listeners became emotional after hearing this.
“So that’s her?” Another whispered.
Many have heard of this title before but this was their first time seeing her. They had previously thought this cultivator was a middle-aged man.
“Always mysterious and elusive. The only vagabond capable of reaching the imperial level in the frontier.” An expert said quietly.
The frontier was a place of chaos. Some of its inhabitants had no other place to go, hence needing to be here. Many had a secret past - heinous murderous hiding their identity, those who have offended Immortal Suppression, and many more…
In recent years, Demon Moon gained a reputation for being unbeatable in the frontier. Rumor has it she was a pseudo-emperor.
This news stirred the crowd. The frontier couldn’t compare to the three grand dynasties; it couldn’t produce an emperor.
If she could become a Grand Emperor, this would herald a new age for the region.
“She’s not a vagabond, her clan was prestigious and powerful in the past. They only failed after participating in the Devil Desolate War.” An old expert shook his head. [1]
“Devil Desolate War.” Some have not heard of the Liu but have listened to stories of this war before - one of the six heavenly wars and potentially the earliest.
“The saber saint of that generation died in battle and then Moshi’s era came. They were branded as sinners and disappeared entirely from the frontier.” The old expert elaborated.
“Bam!” Two figures landed next to Crimson Tiger.
“Crimson Tiger, you were careless and short-sighted.” One of them said.
“Sir.” Crimson Tiger’s expression darkened as he nodded to accept his mistake.
Everyone took a good look at the two newcomers - two men looking like bronze statues. They looked younger than Crimson Tiger on top of being handsome with sharp features.
The auras around them were near the imperial as if this realm was not far away.
“Immortal bronze race.” Many were startled.
This race was mighty and few. Having two in the same place was astonishing.
“Two pseudo-emperors, two supreme geniuses of Immortal Suppression.” Everyone became emotional.
The auras emanating from them made people want to kneel. The majority retreated out of fear. The duo only needed to obtain dao fruits before becoming Grand Emperors. Their appearance here was also a sign of how serious the dynasty was viewing this matter.
Therefore, the crowd started keeping a safe distance, ready to escape at a moment’s notice. An army could be coming or a Grand Emperor. At that point, there might be another bloody sweep in the frontier.
“Your dynasty is finally stretching its claws to the frontier.” Demon Moon had a serious expression.
“Miss Demon Moon.” One of them said: “Comply and we won’t need to be here.”
Some among the crowd chose to hide from the dynasty in the frontier. Without this safe spot, there was no place in Sin for them to go.
“Our clan has nothing to do with you.” Demon Moon uttered coldly.
“We both know that your clan has been branded by His Excellency Moshi. There is no escape.” The other pseudo-emperor spoke.
“Branded by Moshi.” Listeners felt a chill coursing down their spine.
“This happened long ago.” An old expert said.
“Devil Desolate War is long forgotten, no need to bring Moshi up to intimidate people.” She snorted.
Few knew the details of this war since it was potentially the first of the six heavenly wars. It included two influential figures - Moshi and Desolate Ancestor.
This was the reason behind the name of the war - Devil Desolate. [2]
The war lasted more than ten thousand years and involved other masters. One of them was a powerful saber saint of the Liu who died in battle.
The saint’s clan was branded as sinners afterward and disappeared from history.
“That doesn’t matter, sinners will always be sinners under the decree of His Excellency Moshi.” One of them said.
“Your dynasty claims to be cleaning Sin but in reality, it is only a group of hounds. You will cower without a master.” Demon Moon sneered.
Others didn’t dare to insult the dynasty but it didn’t matter in this case since her clan was already branded.
“Miss Demon Moon, mind your words.” Both pseudo-emperors’ eyes flashed intimidatingly.
“Which corner was your dynasty hiding in when Desolate Ancestor came? Its spine only straightened up with the appearance of Poye.” Demon Moon didn’t give a damn.
The two pseudo-emperors were furious but couldn’t retort.
1. Devil is Mo, so this is related to Moshi ☜
2. Mo is Devil, Desolate here is Huang. It’s just an issue with differentiating Chinese names/titles in English, whether it’s pinyin or a translation. Mike doesn’t have a commonly known meaning, but Huang does. It could have been Ancestor Da(grand)huang(desolate), but we usually translate titles. ☜
