Chapter 6003: Nothing To Be Ashamed About
“Running? There is no place to hide, the treasures of Splendor will have new masters today!” Innumerable Saint shouted.
“Splendor Terra shall be no more!” Mountainbreak Stallion roared.
“Give chase!” Both pursued the fleeing group and other sect members followed behind them.
Those from other sects hesitated, wanting to excavate the ruins of Splendor Square.
“There might still be treasures here.” Someone remarked.
“It’s fine to get the remnant trash.” A few knew their limit. Their sects weren’t powerful enough to compete with Witch King or Sky Tree, let alone the grand dynasties. That would be akin to grabbing food from a tiger’s jaw, resulting in eventual sect destruction.
Therefore, non-allies preferred to play it safe and excavate Splendor Square instead. They cooperated for the most part, preferring to search instead of fight.
“Buzz.” Someone actually found a divine sword in a trunk and left posthaste.
Splendor Square was just too rich and had plenty of treasures on display. Therefore, the emergency evacuation didn’t include everything.
“The death of one sect feeds numerous mouths, just like the death of a whale means food for the fish.” Sky Step King said sentimentally.
“If I remember correctly, you tried to steal a pearl not long ago.” Li Qiye gave him the side eye.
Sky Step felt his face becoming hot from embarrassment. He coughed awkwardly before responding: “No one was going to get it, so I thought I should have.”
His volume became lower as he spoke because it wasn’t a matter to be proud of. However, this was the reason why everyone else was here.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of.” Li Qiye said.
“Rumble!” Meanwhile, explosions and earthquakes emanated from the distance. It seemed the battle there became fiercer.
“The assault started and Unrivalled Monarch is nowhere to be found.” Minisun took a closer look and commented.
As they were delving deeper into Splendor Terra, Sky Step King continued to follow Li Qiye.
“You’re tagging along?” Minisun glared at Sky Step.
Sky Step shuddered because this seven-fruit emperor could kill him like a fly. He staggered backward despite the lack of aggressive pressure.
“I…” He stammered without being able to respond.
Of course he wanted to follow Li Qiye - this unfathomable being respected by Grand Emperors. He could broaden his horizons and knowledge even if he didn’t get anything good.
He weighed this against the risk of provoking Li Qiye and dying, finding it acceptable.
“I just want to broaden my horizons.” He closed his eyes and finally answered.
“What a disciple Beneficence has.” Minisun remarked.
“It’s fine.” Li Qiye smiled and allowed it.
“Thank you, Young Noble, thank you, Your Majesty!” Sky Step was ecstatic and bowed to both.
Putting the mysterious Li Qiye aside, following Minisun was still beneficial. She had seven fruits while his master only had four.
Li Qiye took another look deeper into the region and noticed something. He chose to stop by an empty plaza with nothing but a stone statue.
It didn’t depict anyone in particular but had an oval shape, seemingly having been excavated and left here without cleaning off the mud.
“What is it?” Sky Step didn’t think much of its value. However, it was placed in the center as if the plaza was built for it.
“Looks like an eye.” Minisun circled the statue and became startled: “Where did they get it from? This is its natural shape.”
Sky Step took a closer look and agreed with this assessment. It did resemble a closed eye giving off a strange vibe.
“Hmm, this Splendor Monarch is not bad, to be able to dig this thing out.” Li Qiye smiled before looking around: “So that’s how it is, interesting.”
“Are you observing the grand momentum of Splendor Terra?” Minisun was a capable emperor and discerned his intent.
“Calling this place Splendor is not without reason.” Li Qiye said sentimentally and added: “Indeed, much was relinquished.”
The second sentence left Minisun puzzled, but she continued: “From what I know, Splendor Monarch dragged many divine continents from the sky to create Splendor Terra and subsequently, the city.”
“Visionary and capable, not something most can do.” Li Qiye nodded approvingly.
He then glanced at the statue and asked Sky Step King: “Want to do something interesting?”
“Well…” Sky Step had a bad feeling about this as if something bad was about to happen to someone. He just hoped it wouldn’t be him.
“As you command, Young Noble.” Nevertheless, he bowed and performed the duties of a follower.
