Chapter 548Chapter 548
Queenie started crying very hard as her tears rained down her cheeks.
They were really going to be homeless.
Gina's eyes turned red as she tried to keep her emotions under control. Then, she comforted Queenie, "Queenie, don't be sad.
This is just temporary. They'll return our house to US as soon as they're done with the investigation."
"Where do we go, then? Is there anybody who would want to take us in?" Queenie buried herself into Gina's arms, sounding dull.
Gina looked down and spoke softly.
"To Forts Residence."
Queenie let go of Gian suddenly as she sat up straight. There were tears sparkling in her eyes.
'Forts Residence...?'
The Forts family and Jiin family were good friends, and the Forts family were not going to reject them if they paid them a visit.
For old times' sake, they would probably provide them a place to stay even though they would not take them in.
Gina and Queenie could only think of the best thing that could happen at this point. They did not have any more time to waste as
the police officers already started to rush them. So, they packed their things and went to the Forts Residence.
The two families used to visit each other very often.
However, Queenie felt very uncomfortable when she came to the Forts Residence this time, she just
felt inferior.
An hour and a half later. The Forts Residence.
The butler told Meredith that the Jiins were at the door.
Meredith hesitated for a few seconds, but she nodded and let them in anyway.
She was sitting on the sofa as she watched Gina and Queenie coming in. At that time, she had no idea
how to make them feel better.
Then, Gina told Meredith everything about how their assets and house were frozen, she could not help
but shed a tear after that.
"Mom," Queenie looked at Gina and said with a tearful voice.
Meredith's heart melted, she was a mother too, and that was something she would never want to go
through.
Besides, it had nothing to do with Gina and Queenie no matter how many evil things Zain did!
She skipped saying things that would make them feel better and agreed to take them in before Gina
and Queenie could even speak.
Gina looked at her with her eyes full of tears, she started sobbing again after being shocked for a
second.
In these few days, the Forts family were the only ones who offered them a helping hand!
Gina realized how heartless and cold people could be, and it made her feel really bad.
"Thank you, Aunty Meredith!" Queenie thanked her. She thought that Meredith's suggestion was good
even though she was still feeling upset. At least she could be closer to Benjamin that way.
Benjamin coincidentally showed up when she was thinking about that.
He came downstairs while holding the handrail. He got unhappy instantly after he found out that it was
them who were making all that noise.
"Benjamin, I've decided to them take in temporarily for the next few days," Meredith explained to her son before looking back at
them.
The Forts Residence was huge. It would not be a problem for Gina and Queenie to live there.
However, Benjamin did not want his life to be disturbed by two outsiders.
Meredith spoke again after noticing that Benjamin was going to reject them.
"Benjamin, the Jiin family is under investigation now. They can't live in their own house now and all their assets are frozen. You
wouldn't want to see them become homeless, right?" She kept explaining as she looked at Benjamin, who was walking down the
stairs.
Benjamin threw a glance at Gina and Queenie from afar. He changed his mind and said, "Fine. I don't have any problems with
them staying here. I'll just move out, then."
The look on Meredith's face changed as she angrily said to herself. 'You little brat!'
Even though he did not reject them, he still showed that they were not welcomed by him...
In the afternoon.
Molly watched the news, and she knew what was happening to the Jiin family. However, she was not bothered by it at all. Whatever was happening to the Jiin family had nothing to do with her.
She was not close with them anyway.
After some time, somebody from next door came knocking on her door.
