Chapter 398Chapter 398
Sean took his compliments without overreacting as he coldly replied, “You’re too kind.
“Ms. Sharon is not bad too. I heard that she participated in this project too.” He said to Mr. Newman
politely
Mr. Newman said again after they exchanged pleasantries. “Sharon, you’ve got to make sure that Sean
feels comfortable here.” Then, he turned to Sean and said, “You can ask Sharon to tell you more about
the details of the project.”
“I should go talk to your father now.” Mr. Newman went in Ricky’s direction after he said that.
Sean could tell that they did this on purpose to make him spend some alone time with Sharon.
He could not very well refuse to do that because they were in a public place, after all. So, he let them
walk away, leaving Sharon alone with him.
He closed his eyes for a second as he felt a slight headache, but he recollected himself very soon after.
He stopped overthinking, and he was ready to roll with the punches.
However, Sharon did not feel anything odd as she asked Tony with a smile, “Do you mind if I push Mr.
Sean?”
Tony smiled as he said courteously and distantly, “Ms. Newman, that won’t be necessary. It’s my job to
take care of my boss.”
‘Did she just ask me that?
‘I’m not trying to lose my job here.’
“I only asked because I thought you might be tired after taking care of Mr. Sean for so long. Besides, I’m
the host of tonight’s banquet. It’s my duty to take care of my guests too. I don’t have other intentions.”
Sharon nodded as she explained in a gentle tone with a smile on her face.
Sean kept quiet as if he did not hear anything she said.
Tony noticed that Sean did not respond, and he knew that Sharon was not going to give up on that. So,
he said, “Ms. Newman, you’re a very kind and thoughtful person.
However, we just don’t want to trouble you in any way. I don’t have other intentions too.”
He repeated what she said word by word, but his hands had never left the wheelchair.
Sharon choked. She felt a little displeased after seeing how unyielding he was, but she had no choice
but to hide her emotions while she followed them.
After less than just two minutes, she approached Sean again to ask him, “Mr. Sean, you haven’t had
dinner yet, right? Do you want to eat something now?” She was a little eager to get closer to Sean. This was a good opportunity for them to mend their
relationship since Molly was finally not around.
Sean did not even look at her. “I’m good.”
He felt like he needed to stop letting things progress like that after rejecting her. So, he jumped right into
business as he said with a serious look on his face, “I’ve looked at the proposal of the Newman Group. It
is very good in general, but there are a few unrealistic concepts.”
He listed them out before telling Sharon their problems. He was very sharp with it.
If only other people knew that Sean could precisely list out all the issues in the proposal when he only
scanned through it once, all of them would probably say the same thing.
What a madman!
“You’re right. I’ll make some changes to it later,” Sharon thought for a moment and said after listening to
Sean concentratedly.
Even though Sean spoke very quickly, she still managed to keep up with him. She felt a hint of
admiration in her heart, and she realized that Sean was just an outstanding businessman that she could
never surpass.
There were a lot of guests watching them as they were discussing the proposal. All of them were eager
to be a part of the conversation.
The Newman family was going to work with the Anderson family despite just returning to Norlon not long
ago. It would be great for the Newman family if they could really become partners with the Anderson
family
It was just impossible for the bystanders to not be jealous. After a while, several people approached them passionately to make a toast to Sharon. Interests were
the only thing businessmen ever cared about.
They did not have the opportunity to work with the Anderson family, but they thought that the Newman
family would be a good partner to work with in the future if they could associate themselves with the
Anderson Cooperation.
