Chapter 4192: Huo Mian Ruins Her Own Reputation (2)
Qin Chu told the truth, but the words were directed to Mian, and Leila wasn’t Mian…
Qin Chu and Leila played a complicated game of surveillance and anti-surveillance.
At the dinner table, Little Bean glanced at her mommy.
“Mommy, did you fight with Daddy?”
“No. Why are you asking, baby?” Huo Mian looked at Little Bean with a smile.
“Daddy doesn’t eat at the table. Grandma brought the supper to him… What’s wrong with you guys?”
“Nothing. Your daddy is very busy,” Huo Mian answered briefly with an excuse.
A simple girl, Little Bean didn’t ask more questions.
However, Pudding felt her mommy’s smiles looked fake, especially when she tried to give a warm and genial smile.
At closer look, her minute facial expressions were forced; they even looked a bit creepy…
Pudding lowered her head to eat supper without a word.
“Pudding, how are you doing in the stock market?”
“Very good,” Pudding answered Huo Mian.
“I heard you brought the broken Huo Corporation back to life. Unfortunately, Huo Siqian is dead, or he’d feel ashamed that he couldn’t run the company as well as a kid…”
She forgot herself for a moment and talked in a completely different manner than Huo Mian.
Huo Mian’s personality would never allow her to say something so flippant.
Not able to stop herself, Pudding looked at her mommy and said, “Mommy, Huo Siqian is a bad guy, but he saved you and Handsome Su with his life. As the old saying goes, the deceased have our respect. Let’s not talk about him.”
“Hehe. Baby, you’re right. We won’t talk about this big bad guy.”
Hearing Pudding’s words, Huo Mian stopped talking and finished the supper in displeasure.
Everyone felt the weird atmosphere in the house. After supper, the twins stayed in the living room to play with their grandparents.
Huo Mian knew Qin Chu didn’t want to see her, so she didn’t go to the study but leaned on the headboard of the big bed to play on WeChat.
On the next day.
Qin Chu went to work; Huo Mian had the chauffeur take her to Imperial Star.
When she came, Su Yu was exchanging jokes with Han Yueyao in his office.
Han Yueyao was startled when Huo Mian pushed the door open and entered the room.
“Sister Mian…”
Han Yueyao greeted her immediately.
“What fun stuff are you talking about?” Huo Mian glanced at Han Yueyao with unreadable eyes.
“Oh. I am reporting to President Su my schedule for the next week.”
“Oh, I see…”
“Mian, what are you doing here?” Su Yu felt a bit uncomfortable to see Huo Mian so often.
She had been very busy with her work in the hospital and her family, and Su Yu must find an excuse to see her.
“What? I can’t come to see you?” Huo Mian asked.
“Of course not. What are you talking about?” Su Yu chuckled.
“I missed you. So, I came to see you,” Huo Mian said directly.
Hearing her words, Han Yueyao and Su Yu’s expressions changed subtly.
After all, Huo Mian had never spoken so boldly; her words “I missed you” induced complicated feelings.
Han Yueyao wondered what Huo Mian was thinking and why she said those words.
Su Yu was stupefied and didn’t know how to answer her.
“Ahem… Dr. Huo, don’t play with me… I’m not used to you talking in this way.” Su Yu coughed in embarrassment.
“What? You don’t want to see me? If not, I’ll leave now.”
