2547 The Divorcing Crisis (7)
“Explain what? What do you want me to explain?” Huo Mian sneered.
“Explain why you would rather have dinner with another man than go to my gathering. You went to his place? Are you even close to Wei Dong? Is that why you always enjoyed our class reunions? Is he your type?”
“Qin Chu, what are you saying?” Huo Mian looked at her husband with disappointment.
“You know more than anyone what I’m saying. Shouldn’t you be apologizing and reflecting on your actions right now?” “Why should I? I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong? You were photographed, why won’t you just admit to it? Huo Mian, when did you become so shameless?” Qin Chu asked, word for word.
“What did you say I was?” Huo Mian said, tears circling her eyes.
“I asked you when you became so shameless. You… weren’t like this before.”
“Haha… you actually called me shameless?”
Qin Chu didn’t respond.
“I don’t care what you think of me. If you think I cheated on you and if you’re going to believe these photographs, so be it. Me explaining is no use, I’ll just seem more ridiculous than I am now.” Then, Huo Mian turned around to leave the room.
“Stop! You can’t leave until you explain yourself.” Qin Chu grabbed the corner of her shirt, and Huo Mian turned around angrily and glared at him. “Haven’t you had enough!”
Before Qin Chu could respond, Huo Mian continued, “So, you don’t trust me, do you? Does that mean I don’t have to trust you either? You never told me, but I know that you’ve been seeing that Zhang Manlin a lot, haven’t you?”
“Who did you hear this from?” Qin Chu frowned.
“Who did I hear this from? Haha, I’m not blind, or do you think I’m an idiot? Don’t forget, Zhang Manlin works for me! When you came to South Side with her, you didn’t even say hi to me? Do you know, that had already become the biggest gossip at South Side? All my colleagues talk about me behind my back! What, is Zhang Manlin fresh meat? She looks like me when I was younger, doesn’t she? Did it give you the feeling of traveling back in time?”
Huo Mian’s words were more sarcastic than ever.
“That’s not it… nothing is going on between me and Zhang Manlin,” Qin Chu explained.
“Good, and I’m saying there’s nothing going on between me and Wei Dong. Can you let this go now?”
“I…” Qin Chu was at a loss for words.
“Qin Chu, I think…we’re overworked and need to take some time apart from each other. I’m not the kind to scream at you… We’re family, I don’t want us to do that kind of things to each other that would make us both look bad.” Then, Huo Mian opened the door and walked out.
“Mian, where are you going?”
“I’m going to stay at my mom’s tonight, take good care of the twins.” Then, Huo Mian ran down the stairs; she didn’t even pack a clean outfit…
After watching Huo Mian storm off, Qin Chu walked helplessly down the stairs.
“Chu, what’s going on? Did you guys have an argument?” Mrs. Qin stood up and asked her son; just now they were arguing really loud, so the entire living room overheard them.
Even Uncle Li and the others gathered around to secretly find out what was going on. In all the years they worked here, no one ever heard Qin Chu and Huo Mian argue so loudly.
Although the argument quickly ended, Huo Mian had left for her mother’s home – she was so mad that she even left her daughters behind.
Little Bean quietly nudged Pudding, who was playing on her phone. “Sis, what should we do? I think Mommy left us behind.”
