“No need. I want Lu Yan alive, not dead,” Ian said slowly.
“Boss, don’t you hate that woman for bombing your subdivision?” The Indonesian officer didn’t know why Ian suddenly became so benevolent.
“She’s probably the only one who dares to oppose me in this world. If she dies, I’ll be very bored in the second half of my life. Ha.”
Ian put his finger at the corner of his lips, kissed it lightly, and revealed a bloodthirsty grin.
He hadn’t played enough cat and mouse games with her majorly because Lu Yan was too slippery.
She almost died to him many times, but she always survived at the critical moment and struck back. This made Ian more interested in her.

Director Wu brought in a young man during the morning meeting and got everybody’s attention.
“Everybody, this is the doctor who just transferred to our hospital’s Hepatobiliary Department, Liu Ze.”
Huo Mian was reading the papers. She raised her head abruptly upon hearing the name.
“It’s him…” Huo Mian was genuinely shocked to see Liu Ze. She didn’t expect him to come so quickly after meeting him in the gathering.
He must have some connections since he directly contacted Director Wu.
“Huo Mian.”
“Director.” Huo Mian slowly stood up when she heard Director Wu calling her.
“You are the deputy director, so I will be relying on you to take care of our new colleague. Doctor Liu is amazing. He won many awards domestically and internationally.”
“Okay,” Huo Mian nodded and only said a word. She didn’t want to talk much.
On the other hand, Liu Ze actually looked at Huo Mian and gently smiled. “I’ll count on Deputy Director Huo from now on.”
“You’re too modest, Doctor Liu.”
After the morning meeting, Huo Mian held the documents and walked towards the office, while Liu Ze followed her.
“Hi, we meet again.” He smiled.
Yeah, what a coincidence.” Huo Mian’s tone sounded dismissive.
“Would you think I’m too abrupt?”
“Of course not. It’s your right to choose where you work,” Huo Mian said indifferently.
“That’s great. I just came back from overseas and don’t understand many things. Since we used to be classmates, you gotta help me out.”
You overestimate me. Everybody has his or her duty. Even though I have the title of deputy director, I’m just a doctor. I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed if you overestimate my abilities.”
“It won’t happen. You’re a genius, and I’ve heard many tales about you in China… When you were an intern nurse, you conducted a C-Section operation on an expectant mother. Even though you went to court for that, you still saved the mother and the baby. You also prevented Director Wu’s niece from miscarrying her child. Anyhow, I know about the incredible operations that you performed, and I truly admire you…” Liu Ze looked at Huo Mian’s eyes in worship.
“People exaggerated it when they spread the news. Rescuing a patient is what we should do as a doctor. In that kind of situation, you will do the same as well.”
“No, this is different. I know you’re still that kind-hearted girl. I heard that you’re also a student of Professor Luo?” “How should I say this? I guess Professor Luo did me a favor,” Huo Mian said ambiguously.
“What a coincidence! Professor Luo was also my mentor. After I went abroad, we still keep in contact with each other. I’ve heard about your name from him as well. At the time, I thought that you were still the same person, a person who is always capable of being in the spotlight and out of the ordinary.”
“Doctor Liu, it’s time to go to work. You should report to the head of your department. Have a nice day.”
