“President Qin… Back in high school, was President Huo the special kind of girl who always attracted the attention of others?” Yang asked with a chuckle.
“Yeah. Back then, she was more naive than she was now but she was also very smart… She never lost in a fight.” Qin Chu smiled.
“That sounds so lovely… I think we should contact some directors and make a movie out of your love story… Campus-based love stories are really popular these days.”
“That’s a great idea…” It was rather surprising that Qin Chu agreed to the idea.
“Then I’ll talk to President Huo and see what she thinks about it. If she agrees, then I’ll start working on it right away!”
Yang sounded a bit excited.
“This isn’t anything urgent. We haven’t even lived two-thirds of our lives yet… We should revisit this idea in a couple of decades when our girls grow up. That would be something worth commemorating.”
When Qin Chu mentioned his two daughters, he felt a warm fuzz in his heart.
After circling the whole building, Yang and Qin Chu finally returned to the President’s office.
It was almost time to go home…
“Honey… Are you staying late today?” Qin Chu put a glass of milk on Huo Mian’s desk.
“Nope. I’m almost done.”
Then Huo Mian scribbled her name on a few documents, turned around to grab her coat, and was ready to leave.
“Oh yeah… Didn’t Huo Siqian call me this morning?”
“Yeah…”
“He sounded a bit crazy…”
“What do you mean?” Qin Chu looked at her and asked.
“He said that both he and I are in trouble. I don’t know what that meant.”
The look on Qin Chu’s face changed…
“Do you know something?” Huo Mian felt confused by Qin Chu’s reaction.
“Does it have anything to do with Ian?”
Qin Chu still wasn’t sure how to deal with Ian. He knew that Ian was someone that even Lu Yan and Dr. Lu couldn’t handle. Ian also came from a very complicated family so it was better off not crossing the line with him. Otherwise, they might have to run for their lives until they die…
He didn’t want that to happen…
“Probably not. Isn’t Ian on Huo Siqian’s side? If it was Ian, then you and I should be the ones in trouble.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll investigate what’s going on.”
Qin Chu held onto Huo Mian’s hand and patted it to comfort her.
Huo Mian nodded…
Then the two drove home. By the time they arrived home, Uncle Li had already finished preparing dinner.
“Where’s Pudding?” Qin Chu looked around and he couldn’t see Pudding. Little Bean, on the other hand, was watching anime in the living room.
“She’s upstairs in her bedroom. She doesn’t seem to be in a good mood,” Uncle Li responded.
“Pudding said she’s not hungry… I hope she’s not starving herself because she also didn’t eat breakfast or lunch…” Little Bean added.
“Great. We can save money on food. We could just have dinner without her. Uncle Li, can you tell my mother to come downstairs for dinner?”
“What about Uncle Jing?” Little Bean asked.
“He said he’s having dinner with colleagues so he’s not coming home for dinner.” Then, Huo Mian took off her coat and went into the kitchen to wash her hands.
When she came out, she found that Qin Chu was nowhere to be seen…
Little Bean was the only one at the dinner table waiting for her.
“Daddy went upstairs. He’s probably going to woo my sister,” Little Bean answered without being asked.
Huo Mian didn’t say a word. She cared a lot about her daughter but if she gave in now, then what she did this morning would have been useless. That was why she was determined not to give in now and rather, continue observing Pudding’s behavior.
Then, Huo Mian sat down beside Little Bean. She picked up a steamed red bean paste bun and took a bite.
“Mommy, you don’t look that good? Have you been overworking yourself lately?” Little Bean asked.
