After she got off the phone, Huo Mian went to the living room to eat fruits with the twins. Mr. and Mrs. Qin was having tea with their friends, and Qin Chu was not home from work yet.
The twins were happily playing with the new high-tech robot that Su Yu sent to South Side today.
Even Pudding, who was a very mature child, was intrigued by this toy. She kept pressing the robot’s remote controller to play with its features.
“Great Grandpa Su is too nice to us. He knows us so well… Haha…” Little Bean said joyously.
“Of course. Mommy said that when we were still a few months old, Great Grandpa Su would fight with Grandpa Su to hold us.”
“He sure is a cute old man. Oh, Sis, did you notice how Handsome Su has obviously lost a lot of love ever since we were born?” Little Bean asked as she turned to look at Pudding.
“Yeah but Handsome Su is an adult. He won’t mind these little things.”
“Oh, but why did Handsome Su not deliver it directly to our house but bring it to Mommy at South Side?” Little Bean started to ask nosily.
“Don’t blame him. It’s hard for him to find an excuse to see Mommy.” Pudding pretended to act as if she knew everything.
Huo Mian coughed, “Ah-hem. Can you two stop making things up? Uncle Su came to South Side to do a physical health examination. He gave it to me because it was convenient for him.”
“Oh, Mommy, we’re just joking around. You don’t have to take it so seriously.” Little Bean saw how embarrassed Huo Mian was so she smirked at her deviously.
Honestly though Mommy, if Daddy didn’t come back, were you planning to be alone forever and refuse Handsome Su’s deep love for you?” Little Bean continued to put Huo Mian in a difficult situation.
“Little Bean, you can try asking this again in front of your daddy when he comes home.” Huo Mian smiled.
“Uh… no… Daddy will get really mad at me.” Little Bean immediately stopped as soon as she heard Huo Mian bring Qin Chu into the conversation.
She thought the twins were right in the sense that Su Yu could have sent the robot directly to South Hill Manor or she could bring them over to the Su Residence. Instead, he brought it over to South Side and even had lunch with her.
Su Yu was still a little selfish. He wanted to have an excuse to see Huo Mian but everyone could see through his actions.
Huo Mian sometimes thought Su Yu was cute, even though he was a very bright person.
Just then, Qin Chu pushed open the door.
“Honey, did you go to the construction site?” Huo Mian asked.
Yeah.”
“Did you eat yet?”
Yeah, I ate with the client.”
“You must be tired. Do you want me to make you a cup of coffee?” Huo Mian asked as she stood up.
“Don’t worry about it, Honey. Have a seat. I’m going to the library to finish editing the blueprint.”
Qin Chu then walked upstairs with his documents.
“Mommy, what’s wrong with you and Daddy recently? Did you two have a fight?” Pudding turned around and asked Huo Mian attentively.
“No.”
Then why does it look like you two are in a cold war?” Pudding did not believe Huo Mian.
“Cold war? You’re overthinking it. We’re probably so busy lately that we haven’t had time for the lovey-dovey stuff,”
Huo Mian said with a soft sigh.
“Mommy, you can’t be too careless. You have to grasp tightly to Daddy or else he might be stolen by another woman…” Pudding warned Huo Mian of the possible danger.
“Okay, my dear. You two can play amongst each other. Leave the problems to the adults.”
Just then, Huo Mian received an audio WeChat message from Xixi.
“Mian… do you have time now? I have something I want to talk to you about,” Xixi sounded like she wanted to cry.
When Huo Mian heard this message, she immediately tensed up.
