Well, I’m not exactly sure what the patient’s conditions are like at the moment, but we believe in our deputy director’s skills. We are sure that the mom and the baby will be safe and sound,” the assistant explained the situation to Liu Ze excitedly.
Huo Mian’s actions registered profound respect deep within Liu Ze. No wonder this woman was considered a legend at South Side. She definitely had her own forte.
“Excuse me, is Dr. Huo here?” Su Yu walked into the hospital lobby, with one hand in his pocket and in an all-white Givenchy get-up.
“Oh, Young Master Su! Please wait a moment, I will have an answer for you shortly,” the receptionist at the lobby answered excitedly, her heart rate speeding up to the point where it might just pop out.

“Where’s my grandson? Is my grandson okay?” The old grandma suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Huo Mian gave her a look and answered coldly, “Your daughter-in-law bore a little princess.”
“What?!” The old grandma raised her voice.
“It’s a girl?” The man also looked surprised.
“Yes, a baby girl. Almost 11 pounds. It’s impossible to have a natural birth for a baby this large, it’s a good thing we performed the surgery.” Feeling exhausted, Huo Mian began walking towards her office.
The old grandma and the man appeared skeptical; they bolted for the surgery room and were stopped right at the entrance.
“Please wait, the patient will be out soon.”
“We want to see the baby!” the old grandma yelled.
“The baby will be out soon too, please wait patiently.”
Huo Mian twitched the corner of her lip in a slight satisfying smile. She knew the old grandma valued a baby boy more than a girl, just by the way she wouldn’t stop talking about her ‘grandson’. That’s why Huo Mian told her it was a baby girl, just to see that dumbfounded look on her face. It was very satisfying.
But then again, it was a sad family to be in, because what was wrong with having a baby girl? Were girls worse?
If everyone were to have boys, how was anyone going to find themselves a wife? Those extremely traditional families would be begging for baby girls.
Huo Mian couldn’t help but smile at the thought, and a smile turned into a chuckle.
“What’s so funny?” Liu Ze popped out of nowhere and gave Huo Mian a scare.

“Drink something. I heard about your heroic act. Dr.Huo, you’re quite the character.” Liu Ze handed over a can of Red Bull to help Huo Mian refuel.
But surprisingly, she didn’t accept it. She wouldn’t accept drinks from strangers, let alone someone that she was suspicious of, like Liu Ze.
“Thank you, but I don’t drink these things. Water is more suitable for me.”
Liu Ze wanted to say something, but from afar, he noticed Su Yu walking over. Liu Ze stopped in his tracks immediately and stopped following Huo Mian.
