Chapter 394: I Will Ruin Your Life
Qin Man was panicking when she saw this.
“President Zhang! Oh no, President Zhang!”
She was afraid that something would happen to the family’s golden ticket, but she was much more terrified of the younger. He had a formidable aura that told her that he was no ordinary person.
Qin Man directed her ire atYao Tangand cursed at her.
“You wretched girl! Are you enjoying this? Do you think you can take responsibility if something bad happens? Hurry up and do something! President Zhang is your future husband, how can you just stand by and watch him get hurt?”!!
“Future husband?” Cheng Yanrepeated in a menacing tone, the fury in his eyes burning anew.
“Who, this guy?” Yao Tangrolled her eyes at him and scoffed.
Then she turned to address Qin Man. “Madam Yao, if you’re so desperate to have someone from the family marry this man, I will gladly help you find a good divorce lawyer.”
A round of muffled laughter came from the other patrons at that.
They had witnessed everything from the start, and had even been led to believe that the pretty girl was a vain and ambitious gold digger who only wanted to climb up the social ladder.
It wasn’t until the handsome young man had appeared that they finally understood what was really happening.
They should have known since the commotion had first broken out.
The girl was obviously against the match, and she had expressed as much.
Qin Man felt faint.
She held on to the edge of the table to steady herself and took several deep breaths.
What was Yao Tangtalking about?
Had she really just insinuated that Qin Manherself would marryZhang Shou? And the girl would even provide her with a divorce lawyer?
Her, the dignified Madam Yao, marry the hideous President Zhang?
He was well in his thirties. He had nothing going on for himself aside from his wealth, and had already fathered children with all three of his ex-wives!
Notwithstanding the more immediate tragedies of the idea, if she married him, then she would have to be the stepmother of his little gremlins.
In what world would that be a better life for Qin Man?
She glared at Yao Tang, furious and frustrated at the girl’s nonchalance.
Qin Man wanted to go over and shake her, and demand what was going on in her devious little mind.
But she had that young man by her side, and he intimidated Qin Man.
She couldn’t afford to provoke him any further, lest something happened to Zhang Shou.
When Cheng Yansaw thatQin Manhad backed down, he turned his attention back to his main prey.
“Well? What do you have to say for yourself?”
He hiked Zhang Shouhigher up in the air, while simultaneously pulling the gasping man’s collar tighter.
Zhang Shou could do nothing more than shake his head.
He could barely utter a single word.
He had a nagging fear that if he kept antagonizing this young man, he might die there and then.
After a few more seconds of tense silence, Cheng Yanfinally released him.
Qin Man heaved a long sigh of relief. She cast a fierce glare inYao Tang’s direction before hurrying over toZhang Shou. “Are you all right, President Zhang? Do you need me to—”
Zhang Shou swatted her hand away before she could even finish speaking. He shuffled away, putting some distance betweenCheng Yanand himself.
“You’re too arrogant for your own good,” he spat out. “I’m telling you, once I leave this place, you’re finished. I will make you disappear from City A!”
Then he looked at Yao Tangand sneered. “So you refuse to be with me because of him, huh?” he taunted. “Let’s see what value he has to you after I’m through with him!”
Yao Tang said nothing and only crossed her arms over her chest.
Out of nowhere, Cheng Yanreached out to take her in his arms.Yao Tang’s wanted to dodge his embrace, but he was too surprised to move.
The next thing she knew, Zhang Shouwas wailing like a pig again.
It hadn’t even been an hour since Yao Tanghad broken his wrist, and now,Cheng Yanhad crushed the very same hand!
Zhang Shou had never experienced such humiliation, let alone imagine it.
He thought he had managed to retreat to a safe distance, but his assailant had reached him still.
No, the most unfathomable thing about all this was the fact that the young man actually had the gall to attack him in broad daylight, in front of so many people.
“You bastard!” Zhang Shouroared, his eyes filling with tears. “Do you think you’ll win by mangling my hand? Just wait! I’ll call my men over and have them cut off your limbs. Mark my words, I’m going to ruin your life!”
His declaration elicited gasps and worried cries from their avid audience.
They all looked at Cheng Yanwith regret, thinking what a pity it was for a beautiful man to be crippled in the prime of his youth.
