Chapter 343: Switching Up
When he said this out loud, the others looked in his direction.
A hint of pride flashed in the young man’s heart. Now that everyone would blame Yao Tang for what had happened, he could immediately rally them behind him.
What he didn’t expect was for one of the bystanders to speak up. “I was standing by the side when this happened. You were obviously about to collide with Yao Tang. That’s why she dodged. Why are you switching up the story?”
“Yeah, I saw that two.”
“The two of you weren’t careful enough. That’s why you almost crashed into Yao Tang. Fortunately, she came out fine. Otherwise, you would’ve been in trouble.”!!
“Hey, aren’t these boys from Class One?”
Immediately, a girl from Class One stepped in. “Even if what happened is true, Yao Tang should help them, right? I mean, we’re all from the same school. Should we really withdraw our help just because it’s a classmate from a section we didn’t like?”
Someone immediately snapped, “She’s the School Belle, as well as the daughter of an extremely wealthy family. Why would she need to help us?”
“If it were me, I also wouldn’t help her. I mean, if they insisted on me helping them, aren’t they also insisting that I was the one who did it? Yao Tang just wants the truth to be set free, that’s all.”
Everyone nodded in agreement. The person who had spoken so strangely didn’t say an additional word, and instead hid back in the crowd.
The girl who had mocked Yao Tang bowed her head in embarrassment and rushed downstairs, probably to look for her other classmates.
The people who had been watching by the side shook their heads.
“Are you guys okay? If you’re fine, then get up. The ground’s cold as hell.”
“That’s right. If you need anything, we’re also free to help.”
“You don’t need Yao Tang to help you up.”
The crowd immediately said their own opinions of what could’ve happened. It was obvious that the two men didn’t have the upper hand.
What they didn’t expect was for another woman to speak up.
“Sure, they may have gotten it wrong, but did you really think they were faking what they were feeling? Maybe they really couldn’t get up.”
Everyone turned to the source of the voice.
It was Yao Ran!
A gentle smile slipped into her lips as she led three or four of her classmates toward the corridor. Observing her surroundings, she tilted her head toward them.
“They simply blamed Yao Tang in a moment of panic. I’m sure this is all a misunderstanding.”
When the two students heard this, they nodded.
“Yeah, we were running a while ago.”
“Yeah,” the young man quickly responded. “We didn’t see clearly. We saw Yao Tang and guessed. It’s not like we wanted to blame you for this.”
“Sister, I’m sure they didn’t do it on purpose. This is just a matter of extending your help to a classmate. There’s no need to be so uptight.”
Yao Ran reached out to help the boy up. However, before she could, Yao Tangraised her hand.
“No, don’t do it.”
“Sister, this isn’t right.” Yao Ran shook her head. “Sure, they have misunderstood you, but they’re hurt. You shouldn’t be holding a grudge against them because of this. We’re all schoolmates here, aren’t we?”
Maybe it was her indifferent tone or emotionless face, but the others really couldn’t understand what was happening. They glanced at each other in confusion.
Their intention was to lend a hand, was it not?
But Yao Tang refused.
Wasn’t that a little cold, even for her?
But Yao Tang glanced at the young men with a shrug. “I’ve already called the infirmary,” she said. “If you make any large movements, you’d be hurt.”
