Chapter 330: The Consequences of Qin Man’s Actions
Qin Man stayed rooted onto the ground, not knowing what to do.
How could this man be a member of the Music Association? Her hands trembled so much that her plate began to shake. She took a deep breath, but even that wasn’t able to remove the wariness from her mind.
She even had this man greet her!
Memories ran back into her mind, and she suppressed the urge to cringe.
It wasn’t until Yao Yuan had glared at her did she finally snap out of it. She immediately bowed her head and clenched her fists to her sides.!!
“Mr. Yang, I’m truly sorry for not recognizing you back there. Please don’t take what I said to heart. It really wasn’t my intention to insult you.”
However, the man didn’t look like he was listening to any of her apologies. Instead, his gaze shifted to the pile of paper that had flown to the middle of the hall. It was Yao Tang’s Music Association Invitation Letter.
That invitation letter had been stepped on numerous times, and at this point, was crumpled beyond recognition. He pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes.
Right in the center of the letter was a large footprint!
He was the one responsible for delivering the letter, only to find that the letter was ruined by the woman in front of him! How could he not be upset?
“You don’t have to apologize, but you have to take accountability for your actions.”
It was obvious that Mr. Yang was not a forgiving man.
Qin Man twitched from his reprimand before bringing her gaze up to him. She was just about to ask for forgiveness once more when she noticed that he was looking at the invitation letter she had repeatedly stepped on.
In an instant, her heart turned cold.
The consequences? Did he mean that he would take back Ranran’s opportunity to take the assessment test?
That wasn’t possible, right?
Even then, she couldn’t stop her heart from pounding in her chest. She stared at the letter on the ground, and her face paled even further.
Trotting down the hall, she gingerly picked up the ball of paper from the ground and unfolded it. Seeing the black footmark on the front page, she winced and carefully wiped it with her hand, even blowing the dust off the page several times.
“Mr. Yang…”
Qin Man handed the letter before bowing her head, trying her best to act respectfully.
Seeing this scene, Mr. Yang turned to Yao Tang, as if he didn’t want to take the invitation at all.
“Mr. Yang, I really didn’t mean to disrespect the Music Association,” she said quickly. “I just didn’t recognize that you’re a member of the association. If I had known, I wouldn’t have acted this way.”
There was a short pause before she continued, “I had misunderstood your position. My niece—she’s from the countryside, nothing more. It was why I was so surprised to see her know someone as powerful and magnanimous as you. I didn’t…I wasn’t aware…I thought she was only faking it to—”
“You don’t have to explain. I believe I understand the situation very well.”
Mr. Yang scowled impatiently before turning to Yao Tang, tilting his head in apology.
“I really am sorry for the events that had transpired today. It seems that I hadn’t been able to settle such a small matter. I could bring you another invitation card and—”
“There’s really no need. I’ll get it on my own.”
“Of course.”
Yao Rong had just come back to his senses when he widened his eyes. “Yao Tang, why don’t you send Mr. Yangoff. I’m sure it wasn’t easy for him to drive all the way here.”
“No need. I can go back myself. Thank you.”
Just then, he gazed up at Yao Rong and Jiang Wanin confusion. “You are—”
“My parents.”
As soon as she had said those words, Qin Man felt as if her entire heart was being pricked by a bunch of needles. Her fingernails dug deeper into her palm, but she didn’t say another word.
At least, she couldn’t say another word. One look at Yao Tang, and she felt an unfamiliar feeling washing over her system. It was as if someone had glued her mouth and throat shut.
However, Yao Rong and Jiang Wanfelt a little differently from her introduction. While they were surprised at first, they immediately smiled. Did this mean that Yao Tanghad finally accepted them?
As soon as he heard the word “parents”, Mr. Yang’s smile widened. “So it seems you’re her parents. I’ve heard quite a lot about you.”
