Chapter 356: Termination of Contract
Was it possible that this girl really didn’t fear him or his family?
But Lu Qinghad no time to ponder the matter any further. He could feel his life seeping away from his body.
Then, all of a sudden…
“Ah!” Lu Qingscreamed inwardly.
His body jolted as a sharp pain shoot up from his hand to his arm. Yao Tanghad broken one of his fingers, bending it backward at a ninety-degree angle.!!
Lu Qing wanted to howl in agony, but he couldn’t.
In fact, he wasn’t capable of making any sound except for some muffled whimpers.
Belatedly, he realized that the hand she had targeted was the one he had used to handle the knife earlier.
She was sending him a message not to try and touch her again.
Bang! Yao TangthrewLu Qingforward like he was nothing more than a toy, while he fell like a sack of potatoes on the sofa.
He clutched his throat and coughed violently, gasping for air. When he had finally recovered, he turned to Yao Tangand scowled.
“Are you out of your mind? How dare you strangle me! Don’t you care about your friends at all?”
Yao Tang was wiping her hand with a piece of tissue as if she had just touched something filthy. “Like I said, it’s none of your business.”
“Oh, I’m afraid that’s where you’re mistaken,” Lu Qingtaunted, his eyes flashing wildly.
“As long as I am in City A, all the Lu family’s affairs are under my control. I can use my family’s name to dispatch anyone who displeases me. Do you understand what I’m saying, Miss Yao?”
Yao Tang cocked her head to the side and said nothing.
Lu Qing thought that she was finally seeing the error of her ways. He scoffed, then looked down at his broken finger. With one quick motion, he forced it back to its proper position.
“Well, Miss Yao? You get what I mean, don’t you?”
“I think I do,” she said before taking out her phone. She opened her WeChat app and typed out a short message.
Lu Qing’s face twitched as he waited impatiently for her to apologize, but what Yao Tangsaid next caught him totally off-guard.
“Then you can just leave City Aand never come back. Your business here is over.”
“What did you say?” Lu Qingguffawed.
This girl was too ignorant for her own good. She should have just accepted defeat and submitted herself to him.
“I’m afraid my affairs in City A aren’t something a little girl like you can even begin to understand, let alone decide on. There’s no point putting up a fight. Just give up and give yourself to me, hmm?”
Lu Qing grinned lasciviously and rubbed his palms together.
“As a matter of fact,” Yao Tangdrawled. “This is something that I can decide on.”
Lu Qing barked out another mocking laugh.
“Aren’t you being too conceited, Miss Yao? I admit that you’re very attractive, but your face isn’t good enough to sway anyone’s judgment when it comes to business. You’re welcome to try it with me, of course, but I’m telling you now—you won’t get what you want!”
“Hmm.” Yao Tangshrugged and glanced atLu Qing’s phone on the table.
As if on cue, it started to ring.
Lu Qing grabbed the device and was about to end the call when he caught sight of the contact flashing on the screen.
It was the head of the company he was negotiating with. The sole purpose of his coming to City Awas to finalize the collaboration between their businesses.
Lu Qing cleared his throat and answered the call. Then, as if to gloat atYao Tang, he looked at her snidely and said, “Hello, Mr. Zhang! I was just thinking about you. When shall we sign the contract?”
Feeling like this wasn’t enough provocation, he proceeded to turn the call on speakerphone and held it up toward her.
This joint project had been arranged by his predecessor a long time ago. The truth was that Lu Qing had only come to City Ato sign the contract in person as a sign of formality.
This cooperation was as good as a done deal.
And so, Lu Qingwas beyond shocked to hear the other man’s words.
“Hello, Young Master Lu. On behalf of our company, I would like to inform you that we are hereby terminating this cooperation. I hope we can get to collaborate under more favorable circumstances in the future.”
Lu Qing’s face darkened. “What are you saying, Mr. Zhang? Haven’t we settled everything? All we need is our signatures on the contract! How can you go back on your word at the last minute? Why would you do something like this?”
