In the end, his men told him that Leah's face was disfigured twice before her death. When the cops
found her, her face was bludgeoned to the point that she was unrecognizable. Logan sighed. "I thought
I was hard enough, but someone out there went harder."
Ian quickly asked if Logan found any clues, and Logan calmly said, "Why should I? The cops are
searching for Simon, not me, so I pulled out of it."
Ian felt relieved. As long as they're searching for Simon, that's good enough. He just wanted to know
about Simon's news, but he was still curious why Logan pulled out. "I thought you'd look into the case,
with how curious you can be."
Logan laughed. "Once I knew the case couldn't be traced back to me, I let it go. I only asked my men to
look into it because I thought they would come for me. Now that I know they won't, I decided to ignore
it. The cops will do their job."
Since he wasn't the one who killed Leah, he pulled out of it. As a matter of fact, Logan didn't care how
Leah died. He had a lot more to worry about in life. His wife's pregnancy and labor, for example. And
he needed to get his kid a lot of necessities. That was a lot more important than Leah's case, and he
had no time to care about most people.
Ian grunted. "True. That's how you live a better life."
Logan still remembered that Ian had a contract with the company, so he changed the subject. "Your
contract is going to expire soon, isn't it? So, wanna work with Lorraine?"
Ian was surprised to hear that. "Lorraine's running her own entertainment agency?"
Logan heaved a sigh and explained, "She did bring it up, and I think she's established one. The talent
shows she invested in have made her a lot of money, and she probably wants to gain more, so she's
running her own show now."
Most people had that idea. Initially, they only wanted to earn some extra money, but when they
discovered that creating a celebrity would make them more money, they expanded their business, little
by little.
Ian hesitated for a moment. "For the time being, I don't have plans for that. Once my contract is up, I'd
like to rest. Even if I want to continue working in this industry, I'd like to work behind the scenes. After
this whole fiasco is done, I'll start planning what I want to do."
Logan had no idea what Ian had in mind, but he supported his friend. "I see. Just do what you like. Your
old man left you a ton of money, so you can do whatever you want. Your life is set." Man, Ian had it
hard. He'd lived his whole life never doing anything he liked and had to be careful all the time. Now that
his old man and Leah are gone, no one can tell him what to do anymore. He can do whatever he
wants.
Ian had the same idea. It felt like a ton of weight was lifted off his shoulder. "It feels like I've been
walking a tightrope my whole life, and now, I can finally let go." Now that he had grown richer and
stronger, he didn't have to worry about the public's opinion anymore. Only then did he feel that life was
worth living for. No one could control him anymore. Once his contract was up, he would be free. Then,
he would take Cindy and live a better life.
Logan was quiet for a few moments. Then, he asked Ian about Cindy. And to be more specific, he
asked if she was pregnant.
