Logan promised he would handle everything.
Cindy said with envy, "Your friend is really nice to you."
Yeah. Ian nodded. Logan was really unconditionally nice to him. They had known each other for a long
time. Since we were young, I suppose. Ian was still living with the Morgans at that time, and his life
wasn't too good. When Ian was bullied, Logan always stood up for him. Logan had always been a
delinquent, and even though he was young back then, he was as fierce as he was when he became an
adult. Not even Leah could do anything about him back then.
After they were done talking about the banquet, Cindy asked him about the Morgans. Ian clicked his
tongue. "Same old, same old."
The family broke down because of Bryce's death. Ian was living well, and Sean's life was going on as
usual. Leah, however, had her life changed. She was on a slow decline, and after she broke her leg
from jumping off a building, she was hospitalized. She didn't do anything after that, and everyone was
relieved. She couldn't go around harassing anyone with that broken leg, which made everyone's life
easier.
Cindy had been worried that Leah might ruin the banquet, but now that she had broken her leg, Cindy
knew it would take some time for her to heal. It would take a month, at the very least. We would have
left the place, and the engagement would have been done. She heaved a sigh of relief because she
wouldn't have to see Leah. Cindy didn't want to deal with that mess.
It was already late when they were done with dinner, but they went on a stroll anyway. There were still
a lot of people in the park. The old folks were exercising even though it was late. Ian watched them,
and he commented, "This is what real life is supposed to be like." He thought the drama he was
currently filming was portraying life in a glamorous light, but the audience probably liked that, so he
couldn't do anything about it.
They didn't go to the park. There was a lot of news about Ian previously and it always only took a short
time for him to trend online, so they didn't want to be recognized. So, they walked around the perimeter
of the park instead, holding hands.
Cindy talked about the file Mr. Kaufmann gave her today, and she said honestly, "I'm thankful for Mr.
Frye's help, but it's putting a weight on my shoulders."
They were on different levels in the societal hierarchy, and one of them was forced to receive the
other's help. That wasn't exactly a happy thing.
Ian thought about it for a while. "Just deal with him like you usually do. I'll handle the rest."
Cindy was worried. "Don't be rash. He did help me, and that's a fact. Don't be too rude to him."
Ian knew that, of course. When morning came, Ian went out early.
Cindy woke up at the same time as him and sent him off.
Ian turned back and touched her face. "Alright, go in. You don't have to send me off. It's still early, so
get a bit more sleep."
Cindy couldn't sleep. She did sleep even though Ian wasn't at home lately, but if Ian were to come
home and leave early the next day, she would lose all her sleepiness.
Ian went out, and the driver was waiting for him again. Ian felt apologetic, since the driver had to work
long hours because of him. He got in the car, and the driver drove away. Ian then took his phone out to
look for Gary's contact. He wasn't sure if Gary was awake now, but he still texted Gary.
Surprisingly, Gary was awake, and he called Ian back. Ian picked it up. "I hope I'm not disturbing you,
Mr. Frye."
