He’d be perfect if he would keep his mouth shut forever. Ian was sound asleep and didn’t realize Cindy
was standing beside him. She thought about it for a moment before going back to the room and taking
a blanket to cover him up.
He stirred when she covered him up, but all he did was roll over to make himself more comfortable.
Cindy stopped moving and silenced her breathing. After Ian stopped moving, she let the blanket go and
slowly stood up. But the moment she did, she saw Aurora standing at the doorway of her room, looking
at her teasingly.
Cindy noticed that gaze, of course, and she felt nervous. But then she thought about it and realized she
didn’t do anything embarrassing. She scratched her head and quickly walked toward Aurora. “He
looked like he was cold, so I covered him up.”
Aurora smiled. “And why are you explaining? I didn’t say anything.”
That only made things more awkward for Cindy.
Aurora went to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water, then she gulped it all down. After that,
she stood at the kitchen’s doorway. This time, she spoke in her normal volume. “Oh, you’re so cruel.
You didn’t let him in the room?”
Ian finally showed some response this time. He rolled over again and slowly opened his eyes. He first
squinted at his surroundings, then he sat up.
Aurora looked at him. “I thought you handled the matter. Seems like I thought wrong,” she mocked.
Ian looked at the blanket that was covering him. It was originally in his room, so that meant Cindy must
have been the one to cover him up. A while later, he said, “Yeah. That’s why I told you two to share a
room, or I’d have to sleep on the couch for days.”
Aurora snorted. “I don’t really care. If nobody in this house cares about you, then you’ll be sleeping on it
for more than days.”
Aurora was hinting at Cindy. At the same time, Cindy was gazing at the blanket in slight frustration.
Shouldn’t have done that. I was obviously the one who covered him up. For some reason, she thought
it was embarrassing.
Ian said nothing. He stood up and stretched his arms before turning around to fold the blanket and put
it on the couch.
Aurora was still standing at the kitchen’s doorway, crossing her arms as she watched the couple with
interest. This is a fine chance. The two of them have been stagnating for a long time. Now’s the chance
to force them to go ahead.
Aurora swung her arms and went to sit on the couch. “Looks like I slept for a long time. Wonder if I can
even sleep tonight.” She looked at Ian. “Are you two hungry? I don’t, so if you’d like, we can have
dinner a bit later tonight.”
Cindy wasn’t hungry either. She slept right after she had lunch and didn’t even move, so her belly was
still full.
Ian grunted. “I’m fine with anything. I’m not hungry either.”
The moment he said that, the phone on the coffee table rang. Since Ian was just standing beside it, he
looked down at the screen without taking it up. Sophia? Ian was surprised that Sophia was calling him,
since it had been a long time since her last call. To be precise, it had been a long time since she even
called.
Lots of people said that a couple could still be friends even after they broke up, but that wasn’t the case
for the majority of people out there. Romance could be really messy, so even if that factor was taken
out of the equation, it was hard to be friends after all that had happened.
Cindy was also standing beside the couch, albeit slightly farther away. Even so, she could still see who
the caller was if she looked closely.
