Surprisingly, Silas was not upset by her actions. Instead, he lowered his hand and gave Cooper a
scowl. “He killed your folks. He deserves to die. Why are you protecting him?”
“He was tricked by someone and that's why he mistakenly killed my parents,” explained Genevieve.
Silas pointed the gun at Cooper once again. “Even if it was a mistake, he still killed them. An eye for an
eye!”
Genevieve stepped in front of the gun. “He knows his mistake. He will be indebted to the Rachford
family until the day he dies. I have already forgiven him. He will always be my brother.” She looked
Silas dead in the eye. “If you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me first.”
Silas quickly lowered his arm in fear of firing accidentally. He sighed. “Your mom is the woman I love
the most, and you're her daughter. How can I kill you?”
Just then, a gun with a silencer attached was fired. A bullet suddenly hit one of the bodyguards.
As a reflex, the bodyguards immediately protected Silas.
More than ten men dressed in black charged toward them in all directions. A few bullets hit the
bodyguards around Silas as two others fell to the ground.
Silas' face turned dark as he raised his arm and fired at the incoming men. He then ordered the people
around him to take Genevieve away.
To his surprise, when a bodyguard walked behind Genevieve, he grabbed her hands and pressed them
behind her back before pressing the nozzle of his gun on her head with his finger on the trigger.
Two other bodyguards killed off the others and pointed their guns at Silas.
Realization dawned on Silas.
He was not afraid of dying and was well aware that the two bodyguards could take him out at any
second. However, Genevieve was held hostage as well. Any movement he made might result in her life
coming to an end.
Genevieve was the child of the woman he loved most. As cruel as he was, he could not allow
Genevieve to be harmed.
After a few seconds, Silas ripped off the magazine from the gun and tossed it on the ground.
A towering figure walked out and approached them slowly. His features showed that he was a man of
mixed parentage. When the man saw Silas, the corner of his lips lifted as he greeted, “It's been a while,
Father.”
“I'm still your father, huh?” Silas sneered, then scanned the bodyguards on the ground behind Zephyr.
“You purposefully asked others to let me know about Mia's death in a car accident and told me how she
died so I would come to Chanaea. And you managed to convince my men to turn against me. You're
getting smarter and smarter, Osborn.”
Zephyr bowed curtly to Silas and flashed him a warm smile. “I'm your son. My intelligence and cruelty
are inherited from you.”
Cooper had lost a lot of blood. Even though his face was starting to pale, his mind was as clear as
ever.
Sally had sent him a text, and he had been abducted to the cemetery. Zephyr's appearance was the
final piece that Cooper needed to piece the puzzle together.
His face clouded over, he scanned the cemetery.
Cooper was certain that Sally must have known what Zephyr planned to do, as well as the fact that
Silas was in Chanaea. Sally had an undeniable hatred for the Carlo family and had been seeking
revenge. At that moment, both the previous and the current head of the Carlo family were in the same
place.
He had no doubt that Sally was hiding somewhere nearby. When it was time, she would kill Silas and
Zephyr.
D*mn it! Cooper cursed silently. If anything were to happen to Genevieve, he vowed to never let the
Loake family off the hook if he survived the incident.
Zephyr walked over and pressed a gun at the side of Genevieve's head, taking over the bodyguard's
position. His voice was gentle and elegant as he spoke to Silas. “I know you have always been in love
with Mia. Genevieve here is Mia's only daughter. Surely you wouldn't want to see her die in front of
you.”
“You're my son too,” Silas said. “I handed over the guild to you a long time ago. What else do you
want?”
Zephyr smiled. “It is true that you have handed me the guild, but I know the guild owns a stash of gold
and a stash of diamonds worth tens of billions. You haven't given them to me.”
Those diamonds were from ancient times. Any one of those diamonds would be worth up to millions.
