Armand's eyes darkened. He lowered his head, planted a kiss on the moonstone, and gradually slid his
mouth to Genevieve's silky smooth skin.
Genevieve could not help but shove him aside as she was sensitive to his tickling. “Let's not rush it.
You still need time to recuperate.”
Armand chuckled. He then pulled the woman toward his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist.
However, his expression turned grim in the blink of an eye as he seemed to have recalled something
unpleasant. “I felt like murdering Jack the other day.”
Armand wished he could shoot Jack to death when he found out that the latter employed a tattoo artist
to remove the tattoo on Genevieve's waist, causing her to be in excruciating pain. She was even
rushed to the hospital because she had a high fever.
Fortunately, he managed to put a stop to his impulsive thought when he recalled how Jack had taken
care of Genevieve and the children when they were in Dartan for five years.
Genevieve knew what Armand was talking about. She wrapped her hands around his hand. “Let's not
dwell on the past. Do you want me to get a new tattoo?”
“No.” Armand knew she did not have high pain tolerance. He kissed and gazed deeply into her eyes,
“Darling, who am I?”
Genevieve was amused. “Why do you have to ask me over and over again? Are you that insecure?”
“You're the man of my life and the father to my kids.” She cupped the man's face with her hand and
pinched. “And you always will be.”
Armand was relieved to hear that. He embraced her tightly and refused to let her go.
After pulling herself away from the man, Genevieve dragged him to the kitchen. Before he could try the
fish stew she made, the doorbell rang.
“I'll get it.” Armand released Genevieve and walked to the door.
After Genevieve had served all the dishes on the table, Armand brought a man in a suit into the living
room.
After sitting on the couch, the man took a few documents out of his suitcase and placed them on the
coffee table.
Armand checked through the documents to make sure there were no errors. He then asked Genevieve
to come over and gave her a pen. “All the documents are ready. All you need to do is to drop your
signature on the papers.”
“Document to recertify our marriage?” Genevieve glanced at the man before flipping through the
documents.
When Armand faked his death, he transferred a portion of his assets to Cooper and hid the remaining
assets overseas.
All the documents were related to Armand's assets, involving a colossal sum of money.
Upon noticing how Genevieve stared at the documents, Armand grabbed her shoulder and said in a
gentle voice, “It would be disastrous if people found out I still owned these assets. Just sign the
documents. I've hired a professional manager to handle these assets, so you don't have to worry.”
Armand was relieved to hear that. He embraced her tightly and refused to let her go.
Genevieve kept mum ond dropped her signoture on the popers.
After checking the signed documents for one lost time, the lowyer pocked everything, put them bock
into his suitcose, ond left.
Genevieve threw herself ot Armond ond hugged him tightly. “No one would be oble to find out obout
these ossets even if they wish to investigote. You're just using thot os on excuse to tronsfer your ossets
to me...”
“I don't know whot I'll do if you're not here onymore, Mondo. I don't think I con live without you,” she
odded.
When Armond went missing, Genevieve lived in constont onxiety for months. She wos ofroid thot the

During his disoppeoronce, she hod hod sleepless nights. There were even doys she would cry in the
middle of the night.
Armond could not beor to see Genevieve shed o teor. He hod something on his mind but decided not to

Insteod, he soid, “I'll stoy by your side, ond we'll grow old together. Thot's my promise to you.” Armond
lifted her foce ond wiped owoy the teors on her cheeks. “Becouse of you—not forgetting Amondo ond
Lucion—I'll live to fight onother doy. I'll be fine, so pleose don't cry onymore.”
Genevieve kept mum and dropped her signature on the papers.
After checking the signed documents for one last time, the lawyer packed everything, put them back
into his suitcase, and left.
Genevieve threw herself at Armand and hugged him tightly. “No one would be able to find out about
these assets even if they wish to investigate. You're just using that as an excuse to transfer your assets
to me...”
“I don't know what I'll do if you're not here anymore, Mando. I don't think I can live without you,” she
added.
When Armand went missing, Genevieve lived in constant anxiety for months. She was afraid that the
man was dead and would not appear before her anymore.
During his disappearance, she had had sleepless nights. There were even days she would cry in the
middle of the night.
Armand could not bear to see Genevieve shed a tear. He had something on his mind but decided not to
say it to her.
Instead, he said, “I'll stay by your side, and we'll grow old together. That's my promise to you.” Armand
lifted her face and wiped away the tears on her cheeks. “Because of you—not forgetting Amanda and
Lucian—I'll live to fight another day. I'll be fine, so please don't cry anymore.”
