Chapter 1432 Have I Not Called To Apologize
As Charlotte woke up, she felt her head throbbing with a faint pain.
Jessica had been keeping her company the whole time. Hearing Charlotte gasp, she quickly got up to check on her.
“Charlotte, do you have a headache? I'll call the doctor over.”
Shortly after, Jessica left the ward, and within two minutes, she returned with a doctor in a white coat.
After a thorough examination, the doctor confirmed that Charlotte did not suffer any side effects from the
concussion. The headache she was experiencing was a natural occurrence as her wound was still healing.
The doctor also removed the bandage on her head, as it was time to change her medication.
Since she bumped her head against the corner of a table and broke the skin, the doctor had to shave off a patch of
her hair to stitch up the wound. The result was an unsightly scar resembling a centipede, with five or six sutures.
It was a good thing Charlotte could not see it herself. Otherwise, she would have had a meltdown.
Once the doctor had done applying medicine to Charlotte's wound and replacing the bandage, he left the ward.

Jessica poured Charlotte a cup of warm water to soothe her throat.
Once Charlotte regained some strength, she asked Jessica, “Is Sasha all right?”
She remembered hearing Sasha cry while she was unconscious.
“She's fine. I've asked Mary to look after her,” Jessica replied, her eyes welling up as she noticed the faint imprint of
a slap on her sister's face. “I'm sorry, Charlotte. I failed to protect you.”
Charlotte said, “It's not your fault. That scumbag cheated on you, and he deserves a beating! Jessica, did you report
him to the police?”
“Mr. Little called the police to take Henry away after sending you to the hospital,” Jessica answered. “But Henry
hired a lawyer, and the police eventually released him after locking him up for a day. They claimed it was just a
family dispute, and he was also injured during the fight.”
“That d*mn piece of trash!” Charlotte cussed with an indifferent expression. “He cheated on you in the first place,
yet now, he's playing the victim!”
Jessica's eyes turned bloodshot after hearing her words. “I can only blame my poor judgment.”
Initially, Jiminy identified a young man of equal social status to Jessica, hoping they would get married someday.

However, Jessica could not get along with him. Instead, she hit it off with Henry.
After learning about it, Jiminy kept mum and did not interfere with their relationship.
Charlotte comforted her. “We all make silly mistakes. I do, too! Besides, Henry is so good with his underhanded
tricks. Since he dares to do this to you and Sasha, I'll not let this slide so easily.”
Jessica quickly wiped the corner of her eyes, gently helping her furious sister back to the bed. “You should rest well
in the hospital. I'll deal with him myself. You really scared the h*ll out of me, you know? You have been lying
unconscious for two days after being brought to the hospital. I didn't even dare to close my eyes at night, fearing
something awful might happen to you.”
She knew the human head was the most vulnerable. Even a light bump could cause bleeding, and a heavier blow
could lead to serious injury, potentially leaving someone in a vegetative state for life.
Charlotte was taken aback. “I've been unconscious for two days? What's the date today?”
“The first day of the new month,” Jessica replied.

Charlotte lay in a coma, completely oblivious to the passage of time. When she finally regained consciousness, she
was surprised to learn that she had been unconscious for two whole days.
Not only did she miss Jerry's birthday, but she also missed the Twelfth Night.
Charlotte tried to overlook the throbbing pain in her head and asked Jessica to bring her phone. As soon as she
turned it on, she was greeted by missed calls and messages. Without hesitation, she immediately dialed Jerry's
number.
However, no matter how much she tried, she could not get through on the phone, and he did not reply to her
messages.
Charlotte had no choice but to call Joash. As soon as the call connected, she immediately said, “Tell Jerry, I didn't
stand him up on purpose, that night—”
“Ms. Benson,” Joash interjected, “Jerry said it's over between you two.”
Charlotte, whose head was still throbbing with pain, held her head in her hands, trying to alleviate the discomfort.
“What's wrong with him? Why does he, a grown man, keep threatening to break up with me? Haven't I already
called to apologize?”
“Give him the phone. I want to speak with him!” she ordered Joash.
Joash waited for her to finish speaking before uttering softly, “The gift you sent to Jerry earlier, I had someone
deliver it to your apartment this morning.”
